Construction Supervisor - Civil (OHTL)

KBR is looking for a Civil Construction Supervisor – Overhead Line Transmission (OHTL) for a 28/28 rotation to be based in Iraq. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing civil construction activities both within the field site and outside the field. Experience in piling work and previous involvement in power transmission projects are highly preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the single point of responsibility for the safe execution of the defined civil work scope within the plant and transmission corridor.
• Ensure strict compliance with site safety regulations, operational procedures, and permit-to-work requirements.
• Supervise and manage the execution of civil works for OHTL infrastructure, including foundation and piling works, access roads, and tower installations.
• Oversee and coordinate site preparation, excavation, concrete works, and foundation installation for transmission towers, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
• Ensure clear communication and coordination between operations and the construction team, particularly in high-risk operational areas.
• Manage contractor workforces both inside and outside the field site, ensuring efficient resource utilization and adherence to project timelines.
• Conduct site safety audits, verifying work execution, permits, site conditions, and workforce knowledge of the assigned tasks.
• Ensure all work crews are properly briefed, risk assessments are completed, and valid permits are in place before commencing work.
• Provide accurate progress reporting based on physical scope completion rather than man-hour estimates.
• Raise and follow up on technical queries associated with site design or operational changes.
• Plan and mobilize vendors and subcontractors, ensuring minimal non-productive time (NPT) and smooth execution of works.
• Ensure timely approval of construction packages and safety certificates as per project requirements.
• Participate in joint system walkdowns for handover to commissioning and operations teams.
• Provide support to the commissioning department during functional testing and system readiness verification.

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction within oil and gas or power transmission projects.
• Previous experience with piling works and tower foundation installation is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills.
• Experience working in remote and operationally sensitive environments.
• Strong English communications skills (written and spoken).
