Position Summary:
Kitchen Assistant Chef (Baker) responsible in preparing high quality baked goods and desserts. manages HKN Club House's kitchen. The role involves baking, mixing decorating and organizing kitchen operations to maintain workflow and exceptional product standard.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Shall include but not be limited to the following:
Manage HKN Club House kitchen and dining facilities, Measure and mix ingredients following recipes or instruction form Head chef., Decorate cakes pastries and other baked goods with precision and creativity Ensure all baked goods meet company standard for taste, texture and presentations. Monitor and replenish baking supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and proper stock levels. Operate clean and maintain baking tools and equipment including ovens , mixers and measuring tools Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation and cleanliness of the work area. Ensure that there is fresh fruit available at lunch and evening mealtimes, Work closely with the catering team to meet menu planning deadlines and ensure efficient workflow. Maintain a high standard of meals for both lunch and evening, Organize the purchase of food products, either from the local market or via distributors, always ensuring the food products are of good quality, Ensure that the kitchen and dining areas are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, Carry out deep cleaning of kitchen appliances and kitchen area at least once per month, Report any incidents and or injuries to line manager and HKN HSE Manager, Continually strive to improve food preparation and presentation, Minimize food wastage, Maintain a proper food rotation First in First Out (FIFO) basis, Maintain a proper dessert menu for lunch and dinner monthly.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience in bakery, kitchen and food service tole Culinary Education: A culinary degree or diploma is an asset but not always mandatory. Culinary training is a plus. Experience: 2-3 years of culinary experience, with exposure to various aspects of kitchen operations. Culinary skills: proficient in basic cooking techniques, food preparations, and an understanding of kitchen equipment. Team player: Ability to work collaboratively with the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure a smooth operation. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and kitchen protocols. Safety and hygiene: knowledge of food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. Communication: Good communication skills to affectively coordinate with the kitchen team.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must stand for extended periods, lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, demonstrate manual dexterity for precise tasks, bend and stoop as needed, tolerate varying temperatures, maintain physical endurance, collaborate effectively, and prioritize safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
