Your Role and Responsibilities “The IBM Z Software Performance team is responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing stress workloads/benchmarks on the IBM Z and LinuxONE systems to ensure these systems meet customer expectations. As a IO Performance Analyst/Tester you will design and create benchmarks and stress workloads, execute performance measurements with those benchmarks and workloads, analyze the performance measurements, and guide Hardware, Operating System, and Software Development teams on performance improvements collaborating with a global IBM team. Execute I/O performance measurements for various I/O components (i.e., FICON, FCP, OSA, ROCE, Mojave, and other attached I/O adapters). Analyze the data for results and determine what improvements can be made. Work with development teams to provide performance improvements.

Analyze the runs to develop a performance understanding of the new architecture
Build new run procedures and automation for the benchmarks”
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
As Individual Developer
6-10 years of experience as a Software Developer/Tester or Performance Analyst/Tester.
C++, Python coding and shell scripting
Building of workloads using I/O tools
Execution of scripts to run workloads
Analyzing of data and planning of new runs
Communication skills and presentation skills
Basic experience with performance analysis of applications/systems and performance tools
Experience with the application of agile concepts
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
“Master degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering
Knowledge of IBM Z HW and/or IO products is a plus.
