Main responsibilities
The Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager is responsible for leading the implementation of the HSE program, collaborating with Senior Management, Line Management, and Residents to ensure the effective implementation of a proactive Health Management System that complies with local regulations and Sanofi HSE requirements. Key responsibilities include implementing the HSE management system, monitoring ongoing HSE construction, expansion and MAC projects, deploying HSE cultural excellence initiatives, analysing hazardous situations, and regularly measuring strategies and programs to ensure continuous improvement. The HSE Manager works in close alignment with HSE country, regional and global teams. Priorities and Programs include HSE Leadership & Governance, improvement programs such as Workplace Safety, Road Safety, Health Promotion, Environment and Sustainability projects, HSE Audit support, Training & Development, Crisis Management and Wellness programs.
General Responsibilities
Lead and implement HSE priorities and programs in consistency with the Global HSE Policy / Plan
To identify, analyze and mitigate risks related to HSE
To ensure compliance with regulatory and Sanofi HSE requirements
To improve HSE performance (accidents and incidents reduction, reduction of chronic effects, waste, emission decrease, natural resources conservation)
Road safety programs implementation and progress monitoring
Lead Sustainability program implementation in the Hub
Management & Coordination
Organize and participate in HSE Committee, and other Committees for effective deployment of Health, Wellness and Sustainability programs
Ensure alignment of country HSE strategy, with Global Operations strategy and Group policies
HSE Reviews: proceed with regular HSE reviews including compliance gap assessment, HSE standards & guidelines implementation, accidents & incidents analysis, HSE performance, Annual Improvement Plan, HSE Audits
Health & Wellness: Lead the implementation and management of the Health Promotion Program in the Hub
Emergency & Crisis Management: Prepare and Maintain Emergency Management and Crisis Management Plans in accordance with local hazards and business interruption risks. Provide help and guidance in case of serious HSE events such as fatal or serious accidents, natural disasters, or major pollution instances. Contribute to the Recovery program as well as to the Event analysis
Expansion Projects: Provide HSE input at each step of the Project, proceed with regular Project Reviews, Contractor Safety Management deployed effectively across ongoing Projects
HSE Management System: Develop and establish HSE Management System across operations, Training plan for the Hub for respective functions to achieve HSE objectives, Develop and Cascade ad-hoc HSE training material to answer identified needs such as Road Safety, Contractor Safety, Workplace Safety, etc.
HSE Improvement Action Plan / Sustainability Roadmap
Ensure the development and deployment of Multi Annual action plan in line with Global HSE objectives
Key actions defined and local operational risks are identified, and corrective actions planned
Sustainability Roadmap action plan integrated in overall functioning
Design and implement a communication plan to increase Resident awareness and participation in creating a more environmentally friendly Hub including the coordination of Energy Sobriety and Recycling Programs
Reporting
HSE performance management tools Data Reporting (accident, monthly & annual) for the Hub Operations
Conduct detailed accident and incident investigations, and reporting
Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting of environment, safety and sustainability metrics
Follow up on the progress of Action Plan; Corrective Action Plans resulting from HSE Audits, Incidents and Inspections
About you
Experience:
10 to 15 years experience in Corporate HSE, handling large sites in a Corporate Function
Soft skills:

Risk Assessment and Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance of the Hub and operations
Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses
HSE Audits: Conducting Audits and drawing up mitigation plans
Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plans Environmental Management: Implement environmental sustainability practices
HSE Management Systems: Develop HSE Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Training and Development: Create and deliver HSE Training Programs
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report HSE performance data
Education:
Minimum of a Diploma in Industrial Safety / Fire Safety Engineering / NEBOSH International Diploma
Experience in WELL Building and Green Building certifications are preferred
Languages:
Proficient in English and Hindi, both spoken and written; beneficial to have proficiency in other regional dialects as well
