Workplace Interior Design Manager

What This Job Involves:
Oversight of Design Projects for Account Clients In India
- Design Feasibility Studies to support Planning Recommendations.
- Limited scope required to support transfer of detail to Project Managers
- Support design elements during READ preparation
- Support new location feasibility studies + medium to large refurb/restack of current buildings
- Collect BU Requirements and oversee Test fits.
- Provide guidelines and oversight of all test fits prior to BU review and approval
- Oversee drawings and ensure they aligned to local regulations, guidelines and BU requirements.
- Assist in coordinating and directing external design consultants with our Senior Design Manager
- Attend Project Management meetings
- Assist to approve concept & design drawings with our Senior Design Manager
- Review furniture schedules
- Shop Drawings review
- Construction drawing review and mark up with final approval
- Review control sample finishes and material submissions from contractor with shop drawings
- Review interior signage and graphics package
- Assist with participating in all design reviews with Global design group and our Senior Design Manager
- Stay informed of all Global projects and design changes.
- Ensure new design direction included in Space Standards/Guidelines
- Participate with Design Leads in:
- Design reviews with functional teams held by Project Management
- Design development Overview and Design Management
- Design Review for MS Design standards and Compliance (Including Signage)
- Design review for approval at stage gateways
- Furniture and finishes review
- Value Engineering Workshops
- Site Visits / Design Inspections
- Level of refurbishment analysis for current buildings
- Assist our Senior Design Manager with coordinating with project delivery stakeholders through design process (change management, planning, transactions, project management, QS, EGS, property services, engineering, CIM, CSI, technology, multimedia, external consultants)
- Be a thought leader and build relationships with design networks in region
- Subject Matter Expert in respective region
- Assist our Senior Design Manager by maintaining the regional Basis of Design for ISG and Corporate Office Design Guidelines
- Furniture catalogue review with agreed provider
- Review/mock-up for new furniture standards
- Maintain sustainability / LEED certificates on large projects
- Participate in meetings between Art Curator, Design company + PM
- Identify potential location/review lighting, etc
- Follow up design support after project Go-Live to clear out defects
- Design Lead to visit site on go-live and review
- Maintain physical sample library
- Travel will be required
- Overtime may be required

- In this role, you will need to be able to face tough design challenges head on, lead with local design teams, JLL or third parties, that may operate differently.
- You will need to work out a practical design and match master schedules that work.
- You will keep a regular communication both the local and regional design teams to ensure they are in the path to a successful project completion.

An Active Practitioner
- Excellent interpersonal skills, confident and able to gain clients confidence through knowledge, competence and gravitas
- Previous experience of working with or within large complex organizations
- Programme / Project Management experience in a property/ workplace environment with a demonstrable track record in delivering projects with multiple workstreams (i.e. Construction, IT, furniture, comms, migration) for occupiers
A Business Expert With Administrative Skills
- An understanding of finance principles and business case needs in relation to capital projects and property operating cost models
- Experienced understanding of design detailing and costs
- Experienced understanding of design impact on workplace strategy, user behaviors and the importance of technology integration in the workplace
- Good report writing and presentation skills
- Sound working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project AutoCAD
- An understanding of flexible/agile work styles and the technology required to enable the same, along with a willingness to adopt these principles in your own work

- Good team player skills
- Good presentation skills including use of appropriate presentation software
- Experience of preparing reports and presenting analysis in a business context to non-financial senior management.
