Wintel Lead Job Description
We are seeking a talented Wintel Lead to manage our Windows and Intel server environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in Wintel systems, along with strong leadership skills to guide a team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Wintel servers and related applications.
Ensure the reliability and performance of Windows and Intel systems across the organization.
Oversee system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate new technologies and improve system efficiencies.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Wintel environments.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
Develop and implement best practices for system management and security compliance.
Manage vendor relationships and service agreements for Wintel solutions.
Technical Skills
System Administration:
Proficient in managing Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022)
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and WSUS
Experience with Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
Networking:
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN)
Experience with network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, Ping, Tracert, Netstat)
Security:
Familiarity with Windows security features (Windows Defender, BitLocker, EFS)
Knowledge of security practices and tools (firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems)
Virtualization and Cloud Computing:
Experience with Hyper-V and VMware
Understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS)
Software and Patch Management:
Proficient in using Windows Update and third-party patch management tools
Experience with software deployment tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) or Intune
Scripting and Automation:
Proficiency in PowerShell for task automation and scripting
Basic understanding of other scripting languages (VBScript, Python) is a plus
Troubleshooting and Support:
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Experience with remote support tools (Remote Desktop, TeamViewer)
Backup and Recovery:
Knowledge of backup solutions (Rubrik/any other equivalent tools , Windows Backup)
Experience in developing and executing disaster recovery plans
Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (PerfMon, Resource Monitor)
Experience in tuning and optimizing Windows systems for performance

Relevant Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
CompTIA Security+

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven 10+ yrs. of experience as a Wintel Lead or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server technologies and Intel architecture.
Experience with Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, and virtualization platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
