Your role as an Welfare officer for our production and manufacturing facilities in Bawal location. Support all the Welfare activities , respond to labour complains, help work with unions and works councils, align policies and procedures across the teams.

Purpose


To provide Welfare engagement activities to the Plant and drive the Welfare policies, thereby ensuring seamless and consistent employee experience on people processes and foster positive cultural change at unit and project sites level.


This role is for Bawal manufacturing facilities and project sites. Support all the investigations, respond to labour complains, help work with unions and works councils, align policies and procedures across the teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To maintain records and registers in a digital platform.
  • Ensure to handle the vendors, suppliers and manage the audits.
  • Maintaining the highest level of Integrity when managing employee relations issues and managing reported matters.
  • Support business and keep them update with new labour laws, Acts, and rules.
  • To establish contents and hold consultations with a vies the maintaining harmonious relation between the factory management and workers:
  • To bring to the notice of the factory management the grievances of workers, individual as well as collective, with a view to securing their expeditious redress and (to act as Liaison Officer between the management and Labour)
  • To study and understand the point of view of Labour in order to help the factory management to shape and formulate labour policies and to interpret these policies to the workers in a language they can understand.
  • To watch industrial relations with a view to using his influence in the event of a dispute arising between the factory management and workers and to help to bring about settlements by pressure effects.
  • To advise on fulfillment by the concerned departments of the factory on Obligations, statutory or otherwise concerning the applications, of provisions of the Act and the rules made thereunder, and to establish Liaison with the factory inspector and the Medical Services concerning medical examinations of employees, health records, supervision of hazardous jobs sick visiting and convalescents accidents prevention and supervision of hazardous jobs sick visiting and convalescents accidents prevention and supervision of safety education, investigation of accidents, maternity benefits and workman;s compensation.
  • To promote relation between the concerned departments of the factory and the workers which will bring about productive efficiency) as well as amelioration in the working conditions and to help workers to adjust and adopt themselves to their working environments.
  • To encourage the formation of Works and Joint Production Committee Co- operative Societies and Safety First and Welfare Committees, and to supervise their work.
  • To advise on provision of welfare facilities) such as canteen, shelters for rest, creches, adequate latrine facilities, drinking water sickness and benevolent scheme, payment, pension and superannuation funds, gratuity payments granting of loans and legal advice to workers;
  • To help the factory management in regulating the grant of leave with wages and explain to the workers the provision relating to leave with wages and other leave privileges and to guide the workers in the matter of submission of application for grant of leave for regulating authorized absence;
  • To secure welfare provisions, such as housing facilities, food-stuffs social and recreational facilities sanitation advise on individual personal problems and education of children;
  • To suggest measures which will serve to raise the standard of living of workers and in general promote their well being.
  • To take adequate steps for eradication of illiteracy from amongst the workers working in the factories and their families.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Education and Experience


  • Has obtained a degree or PG Diploma in Social Science from any institution recognized by the State Government in this behalf; and
  • Certified Welfare Officer from any State or Central Government is added advantage.
  • 2 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • English and Hindi communication is mandatory.

Knowledge, Skill and Capabilities:


Functional:


Good level experience in handling employee relations. knowledge of different ER/HR policies and method to implement them. Deep knowledge of statutory compliances, employment rules of contractor workforce. Various labour codes imposed by the State and Central Government. Familiar with workers' union procedures (registration and recognition), handling various authorities and statutory bodies. Deep knowledge of Computer Excel, Power Point and Power BI.


Behavioural: 


Interpersonal skill: Strong interpersonal skill required to identify need between employee and management.  Problems solving skill: Solution provider to the issues arising at plant level. Communication skill: Ability to listen and understand employee concerns and ability to address in complex situation.  Analytical skill: Assess the situation and make accurate observation in the workplace and ensure disruption free working. Negotiation skill: Present advisory to management and employees on conflict to arrive at amicable solutions.
