Purpose We are seeking a
highly skilled and proactive Vulnerability Patch Engineer to join our team. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and addressing
security vulnerabilities within our clients' IT environments. This role
involves working closely with other IT professionals to implement effective
patch management strategies for both Microsoft and third-party applications,
ensuring the overall security and integrity of systems and networks. Work Overview ·Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits
on clients' systems, networks, and applications. ·Identify, prioritize, and address security vulnerabilities
and weaknesses in both Microsoft and third-party applications. ·Develop and implement comprehensive patch management
strategies to ensure timely and effective deployment of security patches. ·Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure compatibility and
functionality of patches across various systems and applications. ·Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts related
to vulnerabilities. ·Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats,
vulnerabilities, and security trends, with a focus on both Microsoft and
third-party applications. ·Document and report on the status of vulnerabilities and
patch management activities. ·Provide recommendations for improving security posture and
patch management processes. ·Train and educate clients and internal teams on best
practices for vulnerability management and patching.
RequirementsQualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in vulnerability management, security
assessments, and patch management.
Strong knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Linux,
macOS) and networking concepts.
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and techniques
(e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS).
Experience with patch management tools and systems (e.g.,
WSUS, SCCM, InTune).
Understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO
27001, NIST, CIS).
Experience with managing and patching both Microsoft and
third-party applications.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to
detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CISSP,
CISM, CEH, or related security certifications.
Experience with cloud
environments and security (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS)
Knowledge of scripting
languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of patching processes.
Prior experience working in an
IT service provider or consultancy.
