Amazon’s Vendor Investigations and Transaction Accuracy (VITA) team is looking for a highly motivated Senior Risk Investigations Specialist to join the Retail Investigations team onsite in Hyderabad, India. The individual will be self-reliant to investigate assigned highly complex, ambiguous and comprehensive investigations to identify business problems and identify root causes to prescribe relevant controls.
The Senior Specialist will work with Product and Program managers, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, teams, Risk SMEs across areas as well as stakeholders outside of VITA based on business requirements.
The individual would be required to work with multiple teams Legal, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Corporate Audit, Field Security and Loss Prevention, related software teams, IT and Fraud Security, and other related areas.

• Function as a Senior Fraud Investigator by providing investigative services and guidance to cross functional teams throughout the organization.
• by conducting complex forensic investigations in a timely manner within an ambiguous environment using data analysis, SQL queries, multiple internal tools and outsource intelligence.
• Displays high level of ownership throughout investigation life cycle by defining investigation requirements, facilitating and reporting progress and identifying blockers & providing resolutions / work arounds.
• Works as a Project Manager, when required on short / medium term investigations, establishing procedures and monitoring progress.
• Insists on high standards by writing effective documents summarizing, findings and proposing solutions
• Identifies gaps and risks in current mechanisms and policies and recommends solutions to policy owning teams.
• Identifies technology gaps and work with tech teams on solutions.
• Drives broader risk mitigation activities by working with other teams such as Internal Audit or Loss Prevention.
Provides effective guidance to team members for cross skilling and professional development of the wider VITA team.
About the team
Vendor Investigations & Transaction Accuracy (VITA) is a vertical of Global Finance Operations (FinOps) Theft, Fraud, Abuse and Waste (T-FAW) program. VITA identifies, prevents and recovers erroneous, fraudulent or wasteful payments to all vendors globally. VITA uses rule-based models and machine learning (ML) techniques to identify duplicate or fraudulent invoices, data anomalies and potentially fraudulent vendors both in the corporate and retail space.
- 6+ years of post-qualification experience in risk and fraud management
- Experience in data mining techniques or related analytics to detect fraud patterns, financial crimes, payment fraud, collusion etc.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with professional certifications/experience in Investigations
- Experience in handling complex, high-value investigations (e.g. retail, cybercrime, accounts payable fraud) in a global organization
- Experience in organizing and analyzing case management databases
- Basic knowledge of investigation interviews, privacy laws, evidence gathering and the judicial process
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills
- CA, CWA or CFE certification
- Knowledge of loss prevention mitigation techniques applicable to distribution centers and supply chain operations
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of SQL
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior management
- Experience working with global stakeholders
- Knowledge of laws and regulations of EU /NA region wrt ecommerce/vendors etc
