Amazon is seeking a data-driven Financial Analyst to support the Vendor Investigations and Transactions Accuracy team in Accounts Payable. We are looking for a strong leader that will take ownership and drive change in a dynamic global business environment using data analytic techniques that allow leaders to organize and review large amounts of data quickly. This individual will ensure Amazon's Finance Operations processes stay ahead of risks in the vendor payments area, including internal control effectiveness, erroneous payment detection and prevention, and vendor risk analysis through a culture of continuous inspection of processes, systems, and key business initiatives. This individual must be eager to dive deep into processes and have a proven record of delivering process efficiency results. The preferred candidate will have data analysis and auditing skills, problem solving skills, systems and process knowledge, and customer service passion.
This individual must have the ability to dive deep into vendor data using data mining tools such as SQL or Python, quickly derive patterns and assumptions from the data to identify inefficiencies in the tools and processes and recommend controls to remediate the same. The candidate must have the ability to work independently while influencing team members and stakeholders to achieve the process objectives.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Program Management:
1. Develop and maintain program roadmaps, strategies, and execution plans
2. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and program metrics
3. Create and manage program governance frameworks
4. Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies
5. Develop and maintain communication plans
Cross-functional Leadership:
1. Build and maintain collaboration with stakeholders across multiple business units
2. Coordinate with legal, finance, accounting, and business teams
3. Lead governance meetings and steering committees to provide regular updates to senior leadership
4. Facilitate decision-making processes across teams by building consensus among diverse stakeholder groups
5. Manage escalations and resolve conflicts between stakeholders
Project Execution:
1. Monitor prototyping project timelines and deliverables
2. Recommend resource allocation and optimization strategies
3. Track and report on prototyping project progress. Identify and remove roadblocks.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
1. Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms
2. Analyze trends and patterns in program metrics
3. Create data-driven recommendations
4. Monitor and report on program effectiveness
5. Generate insights for process improvement
These responsibilities require the following qualifications and skills:
- 8+ years of program management experience
- Experience in project management methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of financial processes
- SQL hand-on experience preferable
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
