Job Description: VisionPlus Developer
Location: Bangalore
Software Requirements:
- Proficiency in VisionPlus (V+) and its subsystems (preferably CMS).
- Strong understanding of Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, SORT, and Eztrieve.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Control M, CA7, TWS, or Job-Track.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Resolve batch abends in V+ batches, addressing JCL, application, and CICS issues.
- Monitor and provide project support during System Testing (ST) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Understand V+ batch flow, after-hours processing, and critical job SLAs.
- Collaborate with multiple teams during critical activities to process requests promptly.
- Work independently post-knowledge transfer and escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner.
- Provide solutions and debug basic issues when jobs abend or other issues arise.
Category-wise Technical Skills:
VisionPlus Expertise:
- 3+ years of experience with VisionPlus and its subsystems, particularly CMS.
Mainframe Operations:
- Proficient in JCL, VSAM, COBOL, and handling abend resolutions.
- Experience with file transmissions and managing batch runs.
Project Support & Tools:
- Knowledge of scheduling tools (e.g., Control M) for job scheduling and updates.
- Familiarity with incident handling, including priority and crisis calls.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a developer in VisionPlus or a related mainframe environment.
- Proven experience in batch processing and troubleshooting within a financial or payment processing context.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Monitor batch jobs and resolve any abends or issues during processing.
- Collaborate with application teams to understand and fulfill requests accurately.
- Participate in project support during ST and UAT phases.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Debug issues and provide solutions when necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of handling tasks independently and driving projects to completion.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to be available during odd hours if required.
