Job Title: Vice Principal
Reports to: Principal
Job Overview:

The Vice Principal assists the Principal in the management and administration of the school. The role requires ensuring the smooth running of academic and non-academic activities while maintaining a disciplined and nurturing environment for both students and staff. The Vice Principal works closely with teachers, students, parents, and the broader community to implement policies and programs that support the school's educational goals.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic Management:
  • Curriculum Implementation: Assist in the implementation of the CBSE curriculum and ensure that the school follows the prescribed syllabi, guidelines, and educational standards.
  • Academic Monitoring: Oversee lesson plans, teaching methods, and educational resources to maintain high academic standards.
  • Examinations & Assessments: Manage the scheduling, administration, and evaluation of exams, ensuring proper conduct and adherence to CBSE regulations.
  • Teacher Support: Provide support to teachers through regular performance evaluations, professional development, and assistance in improving instructional methods.
2. Administrative Tasks:
  • School Operations: Supervise day-to-day operations, including the maintenance of records, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure school policies, safety protocols, and CBSE guidelines are followed by all students and staff.
  • Discipline: Assist the Principal in maintaining discipline in the school and resolving behavioral issues.
  • Parent-Teacher Interaction: Facilitate communication between teachers and parents, including meetings, conferences, and feedback sessions.
3. Leadership and Staff Management:
  • Leadership Support: Support the Principal in leadership tasks and represent the Principal in their absence.
  • Staff Coordination: Assist in hiring, training, and managing teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Staff Development: Organize professional development programs and workshops for teachers to keep them updated on the latest pedagogical techniques.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts among staff or between students and staff.
4. Student Welfare:
  • Student Development: Focus on the overall development of students, including academic, social, emotional, and extracurricular aspects.
  • Counseling: Provide guidance and counseling to students to address their personal or academic challenges.
  • Cultural and Co-curricular Activities: Oversee extracurricular activities and events, ensuring students’ holistic development.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
  • CBSE Guidelines: Ensure compliance with CBSE policies, including attendance, grading, and reporting systems.
  • Reports and Documentation: Prepare regular reports for the Principal and other stakeholders regarding academic progress, school activities, and student behavior.
  • Audit and Inspection: Assist in audits and inspections from CBSE or other regulatory authorities.
6. Community Engagement:
  • Community Relations: Promote a positive relationship between the school and the wider community, including parents, alumni, and local organizations.
  • Public Relations: Represent the school at events, meetings, and conferences as needed.

RequirementsQualifications:
  • A Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed) or a related field, along with a Bachelor’s degree (B.Ed) is typically required.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in school jobs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and educational policies.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
