The Credit Advisory Specialist is a client facing role whose main responsibility is supporting the Relationship Managers (RMs) by sourcing and structuring bespoke / complex lending solutions for Private Banking clients by:

• Identifying, structuring, negotiating and underwriting complex / high value new credit opportunities for UHNW / Global Priority Clients/Family Offices
• Sourcing new opportunities via internal HSBC Group collaboration and/or via external networks of professionals
• Understanding, analysing and structuring lending against bespoke or trophy assets
• Thinking creatively about potential lending solutions when conventional structures are not possible
• Identifying new product opportunities
• Reviewing credit limits and monitoring collateral while balancing portfolio’s risk-return.

Principal Responsibilities

• Handle enquiries, provide guidance to RMs in identifying, structuring and marketing suitable credit solutions to meet client’s needs and/or
• Perform high quality analysis, due diligence and credit presentations
• Negotiate with the Legal Advisors of the Bank for executing suitable legal documentation with clients/ external lawyers
• Ensure the optimal delivery of our credit products and capabilities to UHNW / Global Priority Clients, in both a direct client facing capacity or in co-ordination with RMs, as appropriate to the client requirements and level of complexity
• Train and advise RMs on credit products and/or in the area of identifying credit opportunities and marketing credit products and solutions to Global Priority Clients
• Recommend credit structure and assess risk.
