Job Title
Common accountabilities:
- Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in the UX discipline. Knowledge of design principles and how to apply them to enterprise technology.
- Works using existing procedures or guidelines and provides inputs to support/influence UX decisions. Makes recommendations on new solutions and proposes improvements by analyzing different sources of information, including technical and product management requirements.
- Works with a moderate level of guidance and direction from the manager. Works within a matrix organization across multiple departments.
Specific accountabilities:
Business requirements
- Execute design work consistent with design and brand standards, functional and technical environment, business requirements, and customer needs.
UX Design
- Study, develop, and create the user experience concepts of a product in a user-centered design process.
- Work closely with User Experience Researchers to make recommendations and propose improvements.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure a high-quality implementation of design artifacts.
- Work closely with product managers to iteratively specify and refine the scope of delivery.
- Work very closely with the extended design team to ensure a consistent set of deliverables
Information Architecture & Interaction Design
- Create task flows that align with technical and product requirements.
- Analyze user business processes and workflows and recommend solutions.
- Work with UX Researcher findings and recommend solutions.
- Obtain input from subject matter experts to determine content and produce a framework for the product design.
- Study data from research results, to make recommendations and propose improvements.
- Create information architecture diagrams, sketches, storyboards, wireframes, and screen flows, that support the strategic vision and business objectives.
- Create a proof of concepts to explore design ideas, support usability testing, and obtain buy-in.
- Deliver the appropriate level of specification needed to ensure high-quality development on time.
- Participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to grasp requirements, present UX concepts, and iterate on the solutions.
- Develop prototypes ranging from sketch concepts to wireframes or interactive prototypes.
- Work with UI developers to refine the interactive experience.
Enterprise Application Design
- Work closely with all UX design-related positions to rely on user-centered design principles to produce high-quality deliverables
- Create a consistent experience across all products and communicate effectively to present ideas and designs.
- Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, understand, and find.
- Build guidelines and design UX patterns to define UI components and support the consistency of a product or set of products.
- Create prototypes, interactive mock-ups, and proofs of concept to explore design ideas, support usability testing, and obtain buy-in, by using interaction design tools and front-end development frameworks.
- Work closely with the Information Architects and Interaction Designers to ensure that the mock-ups and prototypes reflect the architecture and interaction principles.
- Work with UI development to produce artifacts consistent with the technical requirements.
Minimum qualification & skills:
Prior experience:
1. Minimum 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years of UXD experience
2. Experience with designing consumer quality products including mobile, enabling business capabilities and objectives through technology
3. Experience with designing B2B and B2B2C digital products/services is a plus
4. Experience within industry and knowledge is a plus
5. Experience with usability testing, A/B testing, and rapid prototyping
6. Solid knowledge and experience with accessibility principles/guidelines when designing is a plus.
