With a presence in 38 countries across three continents and over 13,000 employees, our mission is to contribute to society through the continuous development of superior rail transport solutions.Traffic Management & Control Functional Design EngineerMissionDeliver the functional Traffic Management System design of simple complexity Automation projects (in terms of geography, or number of objects or subsystems or interfaces involved...) in accordance with industry and company standardsAccountabilitiesWITH REFERENCE TO FUNCTIONAL TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DESIGN FORSIMPLE COMPLEXITY AUTOMATION PROJECT(S)Ensure the review of Functional Traffic Management system design requirements allocation and demonstrate the compliance of design documents by the traceability (at any Stage from Bidding to Implementation)Ensure the delivery of Functional Traffic Management System Design (schemes, specification documents, test reports…) compliant to project requirements, budget and schedule and to industry standards, company guidelines and processesEnsure the execution of the Verification activities on issued documents, according to the V&V Plan- whenever applicable - and/or to Company guidelines and proceduresEnsure the delivery of functional design documentation including system requirements and architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables and analysisEnsure the production and control of functional design documents in accordance with company processesEnsure the gap identification between Customer requirements and Company productsEnsure the identification of development and procurement needs based on Customer requirements and identified gapsContribute to the configuration, testing and HW/SW design of the Traffic Management system by control of the functional design, and produce or control the version control sheet if applicableEnsure the effective implementation of the lessons-learnt database where the detected design errors, process and tool inefficiencies and the related corrective actions are duly recordedEnsure a technical interface for Functional design matters for other Company's department (e.g. Operation & Maintenance)Performance CriteriaCompletion of the functional design deliverables on time in accordance with project schedule and planned budgetQuality of deliverables measured on number of reworks on assigned activities < 3Competencies LevelValue Creation 2Market and Customer Orientation 2Excellence in Achieving Assigned Objectives 2Human Capital Development 2Business Awareness 2Collaboration and International Development 2Innovation and Change Management 2Skills & Knowledge LevelBachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication or Computer Science or Information Technology or Equivalent Technical backgroundFrom 3 up to 5 years Railway and/or Automation working experienceRailway and/or Metro Automation systems 2Automation and Signaling system/subsystem architecture 2SW techniques - programming knowledge of python, C and C++, APIs, Full stack is desirable 2RAMS (if applicable), CENELEC and Quality knowledge 1Planning & Organization activities 1HW design Techniques 1Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
