The role of the Testing R&D Director is to own the virtual and physical (material, component and whole product) test strategy and ensure equipment is fit for current and predict future capabilities and requirements across the business. This role will be responsible for increasing our organisational virtual test capability with the intent to reduce the time it takes to design-develop a product to market.
Collaboration will be vital for the successful candidate, partnering with other key functions within the business (such as Operations, Manufacturing and Product Development) and educating, mentoring and coaching teams to provide opportunities in new techniques and testing methods as we move towards an aspirational world class engineering function.

Key Responsibilities:
Able to apply fundamental and critical principles/practices of a senior manager, while also possessing the ability to truly own processes and drive functional strategy and support larger strategic goals.
Direct two or more engineering managers, directing the planning, design, implementation, communication and administration of engineering programs, products, and processes, regionally or globally. Responsible for both tactical and strategic implementation and objectives.
Play a key leadership role in the design of regional or strategic programs, defining deliverables, schedule, and cost
Manage and maintain key vendor relationships including contract review, management and signing.
Set clear expectations for targets of processes, costs, and behaviors
Drive systematic approaches to improve safety, quality, productivity, and prevention globally
Responsible for creating annual budgets
Take responsibility for equipment, global processes, process training, tooling, etc.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Experience in managing global teams.
Extensive experience across testing, development and virtual testing methodologies.
Strong knowledge in running relevant test centres globally.
Experience in manufacturing methodologies.
Chartered status or professional engineering equivalent is desirable.
