We are looking for a Developer Documentation Specialist Technical Writer/ Automation Specialist to support the Gracenote technical documentation pipeline and support new technical publication initiatives. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Technical Communication and is part of the Gracenote Product Organization.
Overall Role and Responsibilities:
Work as a key member of the technical communications team.
Develop, write, and edit technical documentation for Gracenote customers, including external developers (APIs, SDKs) and non-technical clients.
Help develop new processes and tools to create REST API interactive documentation using industry-standard tools (Stoplight, GitLab Pages, etc.)
Automate the technical publication pipeline using GitLab CI/CD and third-party tools.
Explore and implement GenAI tools and processes for technical communication
Fully document procedures so that they are replicable, making implicit procedures explicit.

Computer science or related technical degree, or comparable experience

Technical Skills :
Strong technical writing skills and an understanding of developer documentation requirements.
Experience documenting APIs and/or SDKs
Experience documenting apps and tools for nonless-technical audiences.
Experience with a modern documentation publication pipeline and tools, such as docs-as-code.
Experience using and configuring MadCap Flare, MS Word, Google Docs, and WordPress.
Experience with markdown and RESTful -like technologies and documentation: OpenAPI, YAML, etc.
Experience developing GitLab CI/CD pipelines for publishing developer documentation, including interactive (I/O) docs and written markdown docs.
Experience with third-party API documentation tools like Stoplight, Redocly, GitHub or GitLab
Pages.
Comfortable leveraging off-the-shelf components, when possible, with good judgment about what to use and where to find it
Experience with Docker and Static Site Generator (SSG) tools like Jekyll.
Experience developing and revising build makefiles and bash shell scripts.
Familiarity with modern engineering workflows like Agile or Kanban.
