In this role you’ll make an impact by:
You will be mainly responsible for
- Heading the Microbiology Lab (operations and safety) with a focus on driving Microbial and Bio-Chemical assay development and standardization, Product formulation, storage and shelf life studies, as well as microbial culture collection, maintenance and taxonomy
- Leading experiments and tasks related to Plant Health projects (New Product Introduction, Near2 Market, Life cycle Management projects etc.), ensuring the generation of high-quality data, data analysis, and interpretation, preparing impactful presentations and project completion reports and presenting the findings to internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for contributing to and generating new IP
- Conducting Microbial QC, Microbial Functional Validation, and mode of action studies
- Managing Lab chemicals, lab-wares and consumables procurement, storeroom, Laboratory equipment purchase and maintenance (AMC),
- Optimizing and implementing manufacturing process flows and on-site plant trials at CMO (Contract Manufacturing Organization)
- Providing Technical service to customers through on site trials, methods and process flows, external evaluations/testing, feedback and learning loops
- Literature surveys and reporting, lead for all microbial-related projects in terms of execution & reporting
- Staying up to date with new scientific discoveries and technologies related to Plant Health and develop new scientific concepts and innovation for the business
To succeed you must hold:
- PhD in Applied/Industrial Microbiology/Agricultural Microbiology/Plant-Microbe Interactions, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
- Good planning and execution of project tasks in a time-efficient manner
- Team player, Supports colleagues, driven by passion and energy
- Strong professional skills and proficient communication abilities.
- Experience in Bacterial and fungal fermentation, microbial QC, specialization in Mycorrhizal enumeration and quality analysis, Functional characterization of strains for Agril. applications, Microbial product formulation, Assay development, Biochemical assays will be an advantage.
