Job Summary
• This role is responsible for leading systems design, development and establishing relationships with dedicated business implementation teams to advocate for business requirements during automation implementation endeavors. The role actively engages in the Workiva transformation projects to ensure comprehensive communications to stakeholders and adheres to established processes while implementing refinements for ongoing automation objectives. The role works directly with customers to understand and propose tailored solutions, collaborates on project-based work, and leads moderate to high complexity projects, contributing to the realization of operational and strategic plans.
Responsibilities


  • Our team is responsible for setting an accurate and compliant accounting design for all topics impacting countries’ local statutory ledgers. One of the critical pillars that the team works on involves the Workiva Transformation program. Workiva is a tool used by HP Controllership for Financial Statements (FS) preparation, and efforts are underway to automate disclosures in the FS by connecting data directly from source systems or reports to the Workiva tool, so the manual efforts in FS preparation is reduced. The team also manages access management and production support for Workiva users, besides also being involved in monthly data uploads and roll forward of previous year balances.
  • Analysis of disclosure templates across all HP entities to assess format and identify similarities and opportunities for standardization
  • Collaborate with Controllership to collect information on disclosures’ source reports, source systems, GL accounts used, t-codes etc.)
  • Finalize strategy on automation, incl. source data, specific requirements, standardization approach, prioritization of entities, etc.
  • Extract source data reports and introduce new data sources to Workiva, if necessary
  • Develop a technical solution for automation and data mapping between source reports and Workiva GSR
  • Perform data validation and testing in test environments, Address changes and requirements arising from testing
  • Implement automation in production across all entities in scope, validate output on Workiva GSR after interface connections are established
  • Prepare user guides on disclosure automation and provide training and communication on the changes to end users
  • Work under deadline driven conditions, within a flexible work environment whilst functioning in an undefined and evolving workspace under high pressure
  • Autonomous worker who thinks creatively, makes strategic inferences, innovate and drive solutions
  • High competency in control design, enterprise reporting systems, reporting, tax and process improvement
  • Support Executive and Stakeholders communication


Education & Experience Recommended
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in IT projects, process improvement, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.


• University degree with focus in Accounting, Audit and Tax


• Technical scripts and programming knowledge (eg: SQL)


• S4HANA/SAP experience


• Controllership and Workiva experience would be a plus


• Experience in cross functional collaboration a benefit


• Project Management Experience

Knowledge & Skills


  • Superior understanding of Accounting Principles and Financial Analysis, Excellent knowledge of financial and corporate compliance and reporting requirements
  • Technical scripts and programming knowledge is a must
  • Strong understanding of SAP, S4HANA
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills that caters to a variety of audiences
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize
