Technical Architect - SQL

Job Summary
Work together with technical teams to finalize business requirements and define new product features. Understand the business requirements and design specification for a software application/system and implement them. Work with project managers, business owners, analyst teams and clients building application prototypes to validate system requirements. Prepare Business Requirement documents, Design documents, Architect level data models, Process documents. Analyze and suggest optimizations to their existing product architecture with respect to security, cost, and performance. Conduct periodic meetings with different teams to discuss progress and roadblocks of the engagement.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in mapping, reviewing, and analyzing product system and functional requirements. Support ongoing product upgrades and maintenance. Plan, coordinate and execute the projects on timely manner with quality work. Enhancement of new requirements and customization of the products. Assist in managing document business processes, customer scenarios and overall product configuration requirement. Process design for the business scenarios and document them for future reference Implementation of short-term solution to handle blocking defects and help with patch software release. Design and implement the product subsystems with system requirements as per requirements. Drive the system enabled product development in compliance with software Engineering and security standards. Deal will major technical complexities in multiple teams and provide guidance and relevant technical insights to the customers and internal stakeholders. Coaching team leads/members in improving productivity/quality of deliverables; Actively reviewing artefacts, conducting internal training sessions (identification of training needs is a joint responsibility with the PM); Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of software applications design and development innovation and excellence. Work closely with engineering in database schema design, data models, data organization and SQL optimization strategies for scalability. Ability to analyze data requirements, translate them into efficient SQL queries, and interpret results to solve business problems. Understand and own large and complex product architecture and contribute to taking the product to next level by right design decisions.

Strangulation Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to gradually replace legacy monolithic components with new microservices, ensuring a smooth and controlled transition
 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities / Education

• 15+ years of extensive technology experience in SQL development, along with good understanding of C# and .NET
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Efficient communication skills
• Good knowledge of various product development.
• Proven experience working with com plex monolithic applications and converting them into microservice-based systems.
• Proven experience in assessing and designing complex enterprise solutions
• Resolve technical problems as they arise
• Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented
• Good to have experience in cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
• Strong knowledge of multi-threading and application clustering, scalability, performance, application security, code analysis and optimization.

• SQL Skills:

  
  
• Strong experience with SQL Server, including T-SQL, Transaction management, query analysis, profilers, tuning of queries and stored procedures.
• Hands on experience in writing performant queries and stored procedures / functions.
• Aware of schema design
• Expertise in deadlock solving scenarios.
• Hands on experience on table partitioning, archiving of objects.
• Expertise in High availability, sustainability and security.
• Experience in solving deployment issues and helping the team to unblock them.
• Assisting in production deployment release cycle.
• Hands on experience in PowerShell is added advantage.
• Knowledge of database design, normalization, and indexing
• Knowledge of cloud based DB solutions and good understanding of DR strategies, ETL, reporting tools.
• Experience is ORM frameworks

Experience
Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum Experience: minimum 5 years of relevant solution architect work experience
Other Knowledge/ Certifications

Certifications:
•    Microsoft certified Azure Solution Architect Expert

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
•    Occasional travel may be required across Wolters Kluwer’s offices.
