This is an exciting opportunity in a growing internal global mobility team where you will utilize your Global Mobility industry experience to communicate with international assignees, Hitachi Group Companies, stakeholders, and service providers (internal and external) while managing Mobility Specialists.
The CSS HR Global Mobility Team is responsible for delivering a scalable Global Mobility Program to support the seamless movement of employees. As Hitachi’s Global Mobility Program expands internationally, CSS HR needs an experienced Global Mobility Team Lead who will be an operational partner to build and scale our international assignments.
A successful candidate is someone who is self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced ambiguous environment and strives to provides seamless assignee experiences to all Hitachi Group Companies. We need someone with mobility knowledge, a strong operational background and cross functional project management experience to optimize existing local/regional processes as well as develop new processes that are aligned globally where possible.
Position Responsibilities
Manages end-to-end mobility support for assigned Hitachi Group Companies, including gathering and validating information for allowance calculations & prorations
May manage end-to-end VIP assignments
Acts as the day-to-day point of contact for mobility questions for assigned companies
Serves as escalation point for team of Mobility Specialists
Explains and administers policy benefits to assignees, Group Company HR, and other internal stakeholders
Manages one or more Mobility Specialists, serving as a role model for the team
Leads training and acts as a subject matter expert
Conducts user acceptance testing for process enhancements/technology development
Serves as change champion and trains other staff members on process enhancements
Counsels team on process improvements with a customer service focus
Oversee and assist team member(s) day-to-day activities; may perform annual performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations
Interviews and screens applicants for open positions and participates in selection process
Leads, manages, and guides multiple projects concurrently
Works closely with Global Mobility CoE and AssignmentPro team to implement system for Hitachi Group Companies
Partners with cross-functional teams to develop seamless processes that support mobility needs while maintaining excellent customer service, compliance, and efficiency
Establishes and manages day-to-day relationships with external mobility vendors to ensure service levels are met
Documents, reviews, and creates SOPs, process guides, and other documentation to ensure our internal team, key business stakeholders, and assignees understand mobility processes and procedures.
Communicates proactively with assignees, partners, and teams to identify problems, help build solutions, and deliver training and communications plans to team members
Ensures privacy compliance, including establishing process steps and standardization, and leveraging tools and automation where possible.
Ensures all business stakeholders and assignees have timely and accurate information relating to Global Mobility processes, policies, and procedures.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience in a mobility consultant role, experienced in managing end to end process of international assignment lifesycle
AssignmentPro experience and knowledge preferred
Bilingual English and Japanese preferred
Excellent customer service and communications skills
Must be agile and able to perform in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
Strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks
Prior experience overseeing staff preferred
Ability to follow policies and procedures
Self-motivated and be able to motivate and engage assigned team members
Team oriented mindset while able to act independently
Strong analytical and project management skills with experience creating, leading, documenting processes to help scale the mobility program.
