As a Systems Architect for Digital Health Technology, you will help define a technical architecture solution for POC projects that are ready for full product adoption into the Alcon digital landscape.  This team focuses on Supply Chain innovation, so a strong understanding of ERP, WMS, TMS, and Big Data are essential for success in this role.  You will be essential in defining a 3 and 5-year technology roadmap, which will bridge new technology migration strategies, emerging tech, and a cleanup of old technical debt while keeping a weather eye to the data modeling and strategies to enable system adoption.


Key responsibilities:


  • Strategic Application Technical Visionary Leadership.  Have the ability to look 3-5 years into the future to build a scalable, sustainable system design that works across multiple domains and platforms.
  • Design and deliver seamless orchestration of services across customer integrations, IoT services, enterprise IT integrations, and the facilitation of smooth communication and secure data exchange across system boundaries (edge, Cloud etc.). Implementing data routing and orchestration mechanisms to ensure reliable and fault-tolerant workflows.
  • Collaborative with R&D, IT, Security, Vendors, Business Stakeholders, and Digital Health teams to build robust digital dataflow pipelines that serve various purposes including data lake management, data analytics, and supporting digital applications and workflows.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of the integration platform to support the growing needs of the digital health ecosystem. Implement monitoring and optimization strategies to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of digital integrations and data pipelines.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback, provide updates, and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Develop Reference architecture and implementation: Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to domain architectures for cloud-native applications, Data Lake modeling and mapping, and process flows between enterprise applications.
  • Cost optimization identification: Engage with appropriate stakeholders to recommend or assess opportunities to drive cost efficiencies aimed at simplicity, configurability and eventual elimination of technical debt associated with PSS applications.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to less senior developers to help bring them along the journey to a new technology landscape.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience of 10+ years in systems architecture, integration, and software development, preferably at enterprise scale.
  • Excellent hands-on experience with SAP ECC and S4/HANA.
  • Excellent knowledge of data infrastructure technologies like data lakes, data pipelines, graph/NoSQL vs relational DB’s and an eye towards building highly performant systems. 
  • Expertise in utilizing leading-edge industry solutions and technologies for integration and system architecture design.
  • Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices architecture, and API design principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, SpringBoot, JSON, MVC, Kafka/Spark/Hadoop, AWS, Azure, Microservices, etc, along with experience with relevant frameworks and technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS and Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their health data exchange and storage frameworks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex systems and design scalable and robust solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for software development, including Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous delivery methodologies.
  • An impetus toward action. You like driving change and being the point of the spear.
  • Ability to teach and upskill talent within the organization.
