Flowmeter Supplier Quality Manager job description

Educational Qualification:
•Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
•8-10 years of experience of working in QA (Min 4 years working with SQM Department).
Communication :
•Proficient in English & Hindi languages
•Excellent communication and conflict management skills
•Firm believer in collaboration with relevant stakeholders including suppliers and customers.
Trainings:
•Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2015
•Trained in VDA 6.3
•Internal / Lead Auditor in ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 (Preferred)
•Trained in ISO 17025:2017 (Preferred)
•Precision welding technology
•Knowledge of CQI 15 & NDT (ISO 17635:2016)
Expérience :
•Problem solving techniques such as 8D / A3 methodologies.
•Root cause identification using QC tools such as 5 Why analysis & Fish Bone Diagram
•Process FMEA
•Driving improvement activities at Suppliers through audits and workshops
•Measurement, monitoring & improvement of Supplier performance through Supplier Quality Objectives / KPI’s
•Implementation of Lean principles to improve profitability.
•Implementation of QMS (Quality Management System) based on ISO 9001:2015
•Implementation of EMS (Environment Management System) based on ISO 14001:2015 and OHSMS (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) based on ISO 45001:2018
•Commodities such as copper wire, castings, etc.
•Advanced product quality planning (APQP).
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Operative duties for supplier quality management
1.1 General operative duties for supplier quality management (SQM) in the location / factory
- Leading the location / factory commodity engineers (MF-CEs) in operational and usually disciplinary matters
- ensuring process compliance and achievement of targets by monitoring and coaching talks
- preparing quality reports for the BU SQM and location / factory functions
- ensuring and improving supplier quality in the location / factory
- promoting Siemens Zero Harm Culture at supplier locations
1.2 Involvement in the escalation process
- performing the operative role as level of escalation for supplier quality management in the location / factory
- information and escalation within the location / factory and to SQM functions at BU level, BU SQM and BU CEs
2. Strategic duties
2.1 Determining the strategy for supplier quality management in the location / factory.
- determining the SQM organization including resource planning, competence management and qualification plan
- implementation and controlling of the efficiency of SQM-related BU processes
(process framework SQM incl. sub-processes, guidelines, procedures, tools)
- setting SQM targets / Road Map in consultation with interface partners
- determining content and scope of SQM reporting in coordination with BU SQM
- supports determining the strategy of material teams
- determining preventive SQM work including the SQM methods to be applied
2.2 Involvement in the definition, implementation, and development of the commodity organization and of the SQM-related processes at BU/Division level
- selection of MF-CEs or BU CEs in the location / factory and active support for BU Commodity Network duties
- providing coordinated resources for the realization of BU Commodity Roadmaps and SQM-related BU processes
- involvement in the BU SQM-Network, e.g. personal participation in decision-making meetings
3. Ensuring and improving supplier quality in the location
3.1 Supplier quality management during selection of supplier (Procurement) in the location / factory by ensuring that.
- the supplier quality performance is evaluated
- the cross-functional supplier selection teams are provided with the required quality data
- the SQM information for a cross-functional ToCO assessment (total cost of ownership) is available
- suitable Sourcing Committee- and Sourcing Review concepts are observed
3.2 Supplier quality management in the definition and realization phase of the materials (PLM) in case the location = development site, by ensuring that
- SQM-processes and quality management methods with a preventive approach to risk minimization are implemented and controlled
- suppliers are involved early in an optimal way
- qualification measures are controlled
3.3 Supplier quality management for series production and return of material (SCM) in the location / factory.
- Implementation and controlling of an effective and efficient incoming goods inspection considering BU requirements
- Implementation and controlling of an effective complaints management including review of effectiveness of corrective measures performed at the supplier,
e.g. by checking A3 / 8D reports in terms of content, supplier audits.
- regular analysis of supplier quality
- support with fast and competent root cause failure analyses
- support with technical knowledge when determining and implementing appropriate corrective measures at the supplier
3.4 Supplier quality management for supplier development
- identifying potential risk suppliers from the location / factory SQM point of view and introduction of adequate measures
- ensuring that potential risks in the material's manufacturing process are reduced / avoided on a lasting basis
- controlling corrective measures including specific measures for the "Worst Suppliers"
- improving cooperation of location / factory and suppliers on the basis of a supplier partnership
- initiation of / participation in location / factory-specific supplier improvement programs together with procurement
3.5 Supplier quality management for the supplier evaluation and strategic evaluation as well as for the supplier classification (Procurement)
- ensuring a standardized evaluation of supplier quality performance for the annual supplier evaluation (SES) in the location / factory
- ensuring that there is an SQM contribution to the location / factory -specific target agreements with suppliers (QAA – Quality Assurance Agreements)
- involvement in the supplier evaluation and strategic evaluation in the location / factory
- involvement in the supplier classification in the location / factory
