The Strategic Ledger (SL) Program has been established under the wider Citi Finance Transformation agenda. The program strategy is to adopt and implement global standard Oracle SaaS/Cloud based accounting and ledger platform (the “strategic ledger”). The outcome will deliver a robust global process, governance, and controls to ensure consistent and materially accurate, complete, and timely ledger data and results.
The Finance Controllers program team, in partnership with Finance Technology, selected Oracle Cloud as the technology platform, after a rigorous technical and functional assessment of Citi’s current ledger platforms against leading industry solutions. The new platform provides enhanced technical capability and supports our finance transformation strategy and realization of our Target Operating Model. The program has established a Citi-wide governance and cross-functional team including Finance, Operations, Risk, Business and Technology partners.
The scope of the program includes:
Centralized and standardized accounting into global accounting hubs and sub-ledgers
Implementation of a standard sub ledger and general ledger for the firm
Replacement of Citi’s current Operating and Reporting ledgers, including those embedded in bank-in-a-box platforms such as Flexcube
Automation and streamlining of accounting and ledger processes and controls
Address source data quality issues impacting ledgers in partnership with enterprise-wide data priorities
Align contractual and instrument level balances and positions with financial balances
The role will sit within the Process, Controls and Target Operating Model workstream supporting the transformation to Citi's Oracle / SaaS platform, including the design and implementation for accounting, ledger and close processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Defining and driving the implementation of the Target Operating Model for "run the ledger" and "use the ledger" processes and teams across operations, finance and business, in close partnership with BAU process owners
Defining detailed target state process maps covering ledger operations, accounting, Ledger and Close processes within the Oracle SaaS environment, and intersections with partner applications (both up and downstream), including required process changes in Front Office and Operations
Establishing transition plan from current to target state org, including integration of legacy teams into new operating model and adoption of latest cloud and self-service tools / functionality across teams and functions
Assessing and integrating wider business architecture concepts and Op Models into the SL program and in alignment with Citi's enterprise Architecture requirements
Partnering with implementation leads to ensure all operating model and process activities are aligned with overall release and go-live schedules
Supporting the preparation and execution of testing for UAT
Supporting training and implementation readiness
Oversight of the creation of new standard operating procedures related to Op Model
Identifying opportunities to drive wider operating model and organizational change ahead of Strategic Ledger implementation
Qualifications:
4-7 years of relevant experience with global corporations and financial services experience gained in Banking, Financial Services or in an associated consulting role
Ability to build partnerships
Strong analytical skills
Ability to take high level direction and proactively move forward on next steps
Growth mindset, seeking and implementing feedback and maintaining flexibility to pivot and course correct as needed
Strong oral and written communications skills in English
High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentation development
Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) enabled Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) ledger platform a plus (Oracle, SAP, Workday)
Finance, accounting, controller related experience a plus
Education:
Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, Engineering, or related field is required
