As a Senior RFP Specialist (Officer role) with State Street Global Advisors’ Client Coverage Group, you will take an active role in the business development process with the responsibility for creating accurate, high-quality, and compelling requests for proposal, requests for information and due diligence questionnaires for prospective and existing institutional clients and consultants. You will be part of a global team responsible for:


  • Primary objective is to lead Global Asset Class aligned team and partner with asset class specialists to prepare high quality non-standard/customized responses for questions in client questionnaires, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Partnering with client facing teams to analyze proposal requirements to determine bid/no bid, including setting up kick-off calls, collaborating with various teams
  • Managing the completion of the RFP/RFI/DDQ to the deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for drafting, information gathering, review and final approval of RFPs/RFIs/DDQs
  • Engaging and partnering with internal subject matter experts to draft non-standard/customized answers to questions that are clear and compelling
  • Compiling performance, characteristics of funds managed by GA and personnel data for RFPs/RFIs/DDQs
  • Ensuring the firm brand, product messaging, and tone are compliance  with organizational policies and procedures related to Proposals submissions
  • Minimizing reputational risk by working with subject matter experts to ensure that language and data meet regulatory requirements with customization required for high quality bids for clients
  • Review the documents developed by the RFP Specialists and your peers in similar role to check for quality on correctness & consistency of the information and data
  • Develop specific asset class expertise and coach peers and junior colleagues with the knowledge acquired
  • Actively participate in automation process beginning from idea generation to final solution
  • Continually looking for ways to improve and simplify the RFP team’s processes
  • Maintaining and logging information for RFP reporting metrics

This role is part of the Global Proposals Management Team and in this role, you will report to the Bangalore regional team manager.


Education and experience requirements


  • Completed or pursuing CFA Level 3 would benefit in your role as an Asset Class Specialist and Leader
  • Graduate or above, preferably a MBA graduate with specialization in finance
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in Asset management and preferably 4-5 years of RFP writing in one asset class
  • Good understanding of financial industry and expertise in one or more asset class/es like Equity, Fixed Income etc.
  • Thorough knowledge in Mutual Funds and ETF’s

  • Understanding of the asset management business, financial concepts, and regulations as well as knowledge of various asset classes, different investment products, and market segments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the products you support
  • Strong project management, analytical thinking, problem solving, research, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Capacity for differentiated thinking and ability to challenge the status quo in order to drive optimal outcomes
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to understand and communicate investment data
  • Acute attention to detail to review complex proposals
  • Capability to produce high-quality and/or final work product and solutions in a rapidly changing environment with tight deadlines, including the skill to prioritize and allocate projects and workflow to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • You are collaborative by nature with the capability to help others achieve more, working with local and global teams, including the flexibility to work within global deadlines
  • Comfortable working in various shift (Americas, APAC and EMEA regions) timings
  • An ability to form and cultivate positive relationships with internal partners across all levels of the organization
  • An ability to take ownership, initiative and successfully navigate within a demanding and international environment of a leading global financial institution
  • Thrive in a highly regulated environment that demands full compliance with policies and procedures
  • Have a positive attitude that motivates and inspires others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically MS Word and Excel
