Roles & Responsibilities:
Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) is looking to hire a full-time Experienced Software Engineer to join our Data Quality team. The team helps our clients articulate how data contributes to business value, identifies data quality issues, and implements solutions to verify, validate, and monitor data quality. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will use software-based approaches to solve complex data-driven challenges and automate solutions. Within our organization, you’ll lead efforts aimed at scaling our existing data quality offerings and establish the technical strategy for how we can build better and equip our Data Producers and Consumers. You will build a deep understanding of our digital streaming service and use that knowledge, coupled with your engineering, data, and cloud knowledge, to optimize, automate and evolve how we ensure the highest quality data.
To be successful, you’ll need to be deeply technical and capable of holding your own with other strong peers. You possess excellent collaboration and diplomacy skills. You have experience practicing in a data organization, ensuring quality Data and Analytics. As a Staff Engineer you will drive the framework to formulate rules-based and pattern-based tests. Ensuring code and pipelines are created to discover, implement, execute, and manage those tests. In addition, you’ll have strong systems knowledge and experienced troubleshooting abilities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Engineering: Apply broad knowledge of technology options, platforms, design techniques and approaches across the Data Engineering ecosystem to build systems that meet quality needs.
Developer Excellence: Build systems and datasets using software engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, recent advances in distributed systems, and operational and engineering excellence best practices
Data Warehousing: Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend).
SQL and Database Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating data in various types of databases (relational and non-relational).
Programming Languages: Knowledge of programming languages like Python or R, particularly for data manipulation, automation, and building custom validation scripts.
Data Validation and Testing: Expertise in validating data quality, integrity, and consistency across different datasets.
Data Quality Tools: Familiarity with tools like Apache Spark, Pandas, Great Expectations, Informatica Data Quality, Talend Data Quality, etc.
Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Apache Spark, and distributed computing environments.
API Testing: Skills in testing and validating data flows through APIs and web services.
Tooling Aptitude- Successful track record of instrumenting tools, automation, and processes at scale for frontend and backend Quality engineering activities (Unit, Integration, User journey, Load, payment, regression testing)
Software Quality - Understanding of automation workflows, CICD release pipelines, test environments across multiple products and release within an agile development framework.
Drive the design, to build, execute, and maintain automated tests and/or manage deep data profiling runs to ensure data products and pipelines meet expectations
Leadership: Collaborative Leader who helps other engineers and team members to be more productive, sharing knowledge and guides direction for key technical decisions. Provide mentoring to other engineers.
