About You



You have led or played a key role in the definition and development of HW, SW or system products for automotive or industrial. You are seen as a technical expert in your current role but are hungry for a new challenge. You are naturally curious and seek out to valuable problems to solve even when this takes you outside your area of domain expertise. You like engaging with Customers to understand their real needs. You enjoy the product concept creation phase but equally love working through the detailed product design and requirements and testing phases. You will have worked on several projects from concept through to production release and may have held a Technical Lead role on one or more projects. You understand the value of systematic development process and are knowledgeable on system engineering processes and tools. You know that innovation is a team sport and have proven yourself to be a strong team player



The Role



Within the BMS group the Systems & Technology team has a number of System Architect openings across the following areas: 



  • Battery Management Systems 



  • Functional Safety  



  • Cybersecurity 



As a System Architect you will take a technical leadership role in designing system products for BMS and EV powertrain solutions comprising of multiple sensor ICs, processors and SW components and algorithms and using wired and wireless communication. These projects are at the cutting edge of electrification technology and highly visible within the company. You will work to understand customer architectures and needs and develop a future perspective to see emerging needs. Following a systemic development process and best system engineering practices and tools, you will develop work products like the product concept document, system requirements and system specifications.



You will plan and conduct architecture design reviews with the project team. You will work very closely with other system domain experts and the hardware, software and testing developments teams. You may need to provide guidance to executive leadership team on critical technology decisions. You may also support advanced technology initiatives.



You will be expected to keep up to date with the latest technology advances, industry trends and customer architectures and provide thought leadership both internally and externally to Analog Devices. Participation on industry standards groups and further education is encouraged and supported. As is working with your peers across Analog Devices on initiatives and working groups. You will be part of an agile diverse team with domain expertise in battery management, security, wireless, software, IC design, functional safety and battery technology so there is plenty of opportunities to learn from peers.   



Primary locations for these roles are Bangalore India, Limerick Ireland, Cork Ireland, Munich Germany, Dallas Texas, Boston MA, but we will also consider strong remote-working candidates from other European based locations. 



Your Qualifications: 



Minimum BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE and 10+ years of experience preferred 




Experience and Skills



  • Domain expertise (7 years+) in one or more of the following areas



Battery Management Systems



Functional Safety - experience in architecting and developing work products for functionally safe systems based on IEC 61508 or ISO 26262 at the system or IC level 



Cybersecurity – experience in architecting and designing cybersecurity solutions for embedded HW and SW  



  • Experience leading or supporting the system architecture for integrated circuit products or PCB-level system solutions comprising of multiple ICs and software 



  • Requirement’s definition and management (traceability, disaggregation) and associated tools like Jama or Doors



  • Experience with articulating and presenting concepts to customers and probing to understand their true needs



  • Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to understand and clearly articulate technical issues to peers, management and and customers



  • Good verbal and written English communication skills to work effectively with teams spread geographically 



Nice to have -



  • Familiarity with sysML and tools like Enterprise Architect



  • Experience with APSICE or other automotive software and product development processes



  • Electrical System modelling experience in MATLAB or similar tools
