You'll be part of the team which builds unique OTT viewing experiences for our customers, and the features you build will have a direct impact on the Amazon MX Player customer experience. We are seeking an engineer who can channel their passion for movies and TV entertainment to work backwards from the customer to help us achieve our vision.
This a leadership role in our Tech organization. You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements, be able to identify solutions to challenges discovered during development, and ready to work with latest technology. Prior experience in building stable, scalable, solutions is required. Prior experience with video streaming, mobile or advertising is a plus. Successful candidates will thrive in fast-paced environments that leverage agile planning techniques, encourage and reward creative design, intelligent risk taking, and find innovative ways to leverage cutting edge technology.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 3), you will:
* Influence strategy and roadmap through your technical and non-technical insight
* Work with a team of engineers and product managers to understand and refine the scope of incoming projects, and to ensure deliverables meet a high quality bar
* Actively experiment and prototype with novel technologies that improve the customer experience or solve business needs
* Mentor junior team members in career growth and assist in task management and Agile planning
* Work with multiple internal and external engineering teams to learn and apply best practices
* Organize and participate in collaborative Q&A sessions, workshops, presentations to share your technical know-how with the rest of the team
- 6+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in OTT / video streaming industry is preferred
