Position Summary:


The Sr Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in managing the global procurement operations associated with hardware, software, professional services, facilities, marketing, and technology support.  You will collaborate with various internal partners, finance, and vendors to understand current business challenges, identify projects, set priorities, and successfully execute the purchasing process for existing and new commodities.

Primary Responsibilities: 


  • Execute against company policies and purchasing procedures for designated business units and commodities while working closely with internal partners and Accounting.Includes procurement request management, contract and vendor administration, requisition creation, purchase order placement and systems/documentation maintenance.


  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the supply base and internal customers.


  • Identify and communicate opportunities for more efficient procurement processes and assist with any associated Business Process Improvement review.


  • Analyze data using BI tools and reason to make sound decisions and recommendations. Identify and focus on relevant metrics.


Other Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Pro-active in driving improved procurement processes and aligning them with broader business strategies.


  • Understanding of contract language and administration.


  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties of a similar level or moderately higher and resolve issues diplomatically.


  • Strong attention to detail.


Qualifications:


  • BA/BS degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • 2-4 years purchasing experience.


  • Intermediate MS Suite skills.


  • ERP system experience (Oracle preferred).


  • CM and ITSM systems experience a plus.


  • Confident, discrete, and professional.


Physical Demands and Work Environment: 


  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.


  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).


  • Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% or less of the time spent traveling.
