Position Description:


Over the past 8 years Lilly Capability Centre India (LCCI) has grown into a key strategic centre for Eli Lilly supporting many aspects of the pharmaceutical medicine life cycle and enabling Lilly to reach more and more patients with our innovative medicines. LCCI has a tremendous opportunity to further accelerate the impact for Eli Lilly and our community at large. This new role will be a key member of the site Executive Lead Team and report to the General Manager.


The role will include responsibility for aligning LCCI’s vision and operational strategy, delivering on the integrated site roadmap by leading LCCI’s governance model, and driving continued business transformation and operational excellence. The role will also oversee the site’s facilities, HSE and administration operations and will ensure an aligned ERG strategy supporting our key people pillars and overall site values.

Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:


  • Build and drive the operational strategy for LCCI that enables us to unlock our full value.
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive the effective transition of new capabilities to the site with strong functional and HR partnership from the business case process through to stabilization of operations.
  • Forge and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with local and overseas leaders within the organization; act as a key player on the lead team bringing the team together on various initiatives.
  • Build resiliency for LCCI so that we are able to anticipate change, identify key risks and mitigate them.
  • Partner with leaders to effectively guide and lead change in the organization, providing the right amount of transparency to teammates and providing leaders with the right tools to lead change and ensure effective workforce inclusion, representation, and diversity practices.
  • Develop joint Business and GBS strategic plans, owner of Site Integrated Roadmap.  

Governance and Operational Excellence:


  • Drive the site’s governance model ensuring effective leadership at ELT & SLT, decision-making, and accountability across all operational areas.
  • Evolve an environment of continuous improvement and automation focus in partnership with the functions, GBS Optimization and Automation capability and Tech@Lilly teams, leveraging global platforms to deliver tangible and measurable impacts across the functions.
  • Ensure effective reporting and dissemination of data analytics and forecasting to enable the business to make key operational and strategic decisions around key support areas.
  • Lead the overarching Employee Resource Group (ERG) governance ensuring alignment with the company’s core values and people-focused initiatives including the creation and execution of  a calendar of events to enhance our employee experience and engagement.

Leading teams:


  • Ownership and accountability for critical Site Functions which ensure that LCCI Bangalore can meet its near and long-term goals – these include facilities vendor management, HSE, infrastructure projects, visitor management, administration and reception.
  • Ensure rigorous focus on our HSE goals and other organizational programs. Ensure that the teams are always at the forefront of ensuring employee safety and the right things are done at the right time in the right way.  
  • Lead compliance initiatives including a framework for integrity across the site, compliance related topics, compliance training and Protect Lilly policies.

Position Preferred Requirements:
 


  • 12+ years of experience in general management across pharmaceuticals or consumer goods companies. At least 6+ years of senior leadership experience with proven success in running an affiliate and/or an innovation focused capability center.
  • Demonstrated experience in converting strategies into actionable steps, building governance systems that ensure execution with excellence.
  • Work effectively in a highly changing and dynamic environment, demonstrating ability to learn and adjust quickly, and bring others along when designing or implementing new ideas.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in General Management.
  • Experience in defining and executing continuous improvement and/or automation programs to drive improved business outcomes.
  • Business Knowledge – includes value added perspective, financial awareness and cost control, industry knowledge, strategic focus, diverse business experience.
  • Communicate (written and orally) in a highly effective way with Senior Leaders – focusing on content, outcomes and value relevant to business leaders.

Other Information:


  • Work shift:  Full time, normal work shift, some overtime and/or “off hours” effort may be required during peak business times.
  • Some international travel will be required (up to 5% of the working time).
  • Location:  LCCI, Bangalore.
