This role will be part of Digital Marketing Experience, Benefits & Loyalty team in Value Added Services group at Visa.
The successful applicant will be a Sr. Staff Data Engineer possessing outstanding analytical skills and data engineering expertise, with a deep understanding of analytical technologies. They will actively participate in architecting intricate big data systems and the development of diverse analytical practices, addressing complex data challenges. They should be a motivated individual who takes initiative and has a knack for rapid learning.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or over 8 years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters in computer science or a related field)
Preferred Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, with competencies in data analytics, data engineering & problem solving skills.
Proficiency in data models, data mining, and segmentation methods
Skillful in analyzing business needs and creating/providing technical documentation of solutions
Expertise in data analysis tools and software, including Hadoop, Hive, Scala, Python, SQL
Good to have knowledge about data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI/ Datorama
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and statistical models is beneficial.
Proven capability in developing long-term architectures for data-driven analytics.
Experience in building data pipelines and transforming these data metrics into meaningful data visualizations.
Exceptional numerical and analytical skills to identify problems, analyze information, and develop solutions are vital in this role.
Responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting data to aid in marketing decisions.
Critical ability to interpret complex data and encompasses statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization.
The role often requires presenting findings to non-technical team members and stakeholders, hence excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
Experience working in an Agile environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines is often required.
