Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an innovative and hands-on Business Systems Analyst. This pivotal role within our Clinical Research Group’s IT organization works with a multi-functional team of System and Solution Architects to deliver groundbreaking data and digital initiatives. This role assists in requirement gathering, process mapping, documentation, and project coordination across a variety of projects and divisions. The incumbent will work with various levels of management and staff to explore and help specify system integrations, system requirements, gap analysis and workflow definitions.


The successful candidate will possess strong critical thinking capabilities and will demonstrate proven analytical skills and applied teamwork. Collaborating with colleagues across several business units will allow this individual to be most effective.

Responsibilities
  • Author effective business requirements documents.


  • Analyze data sources and map data elements to key business requirements.


  • Facilitate end-user workshops for requirements capturing and brainstorming.


  • Consult with business users to identify areas of business process improvement.


  • Support the Technology Solutions team via project coordination activities.


  • Complete assignments independently and communicate with a diverse group, executives, managers, and team members.


  • Deliver customer happiness through clear and timely status updates.


  • Ensure compliance with company’s Global IT Policies & Procedures


Qualifications
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking.


  • Ability to coordinate stakeholders, disseminate information efficiently, and effectively set expectations.


  • Experience writing business requirement documents.


  • Strong written and interpersonal skills required to communicate and work with all levels of employees across geographical regions.


  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including PowerApps, Power BI, and Power Automate is helpful.


  • Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or Microsoft Copilot M365 is favorable.


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical subject area.


  • 5-8 years developing/supporting applications, data and/or standards management and business reporting.
