About the Job:
SVB is seeking a strategic, process driven and analytical individual to support Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) under our Vendor Transformation Office (VTO).
The Third - Party Risk Analyst (TPRA) role is responsible for executing risk assessments to ensure that the bank adequately identifies risk associated with vendors, conducts the appropriate due diligence, and puts in place mitigating controls. The TPRA acts as a challenge to business functions onboarding vendors and coordinates with other first line risk subject matter experts so that risks are understood and managed.
The ideal candidate will:
Vendor Risk Assessments
Review and challenge vendor purchase requisitions (PRs) to determine vendors that required enhanced vendor risk assessment and due diligence
Execute inherent risk questionnaires
Collect vendor documentation and coordinate with other first line control functions
Perform due diligence on vendor documentation to identify risks, gaps, or issues
Work with business unit to communicate risk and develop mitigating controls or action plans
Make decisions on risk items such as severity/impact, likelihood, and criticality
Escalate and report on material risk elements to business risk officers and leadership, as needed
Reviews work product and provides guidance to junior members on the Third-Party Risk and Oversight Team
Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to address information security policy/risk or compliance issues
Vendor Performance
Collect vendor performance details from business units and analyze them for potential impacts to risk or operations
Responsible for translating the results of the analysis into business consumable format and delivering
Ongoing Monitoring
Responsible for identifying and tracking continuous monitoring activities to ensure the risks associated with vendors has not changed or exceeded risk tolerance thresholds
Perform continuous monitoring on vendor population for external events or impacts
Manage task and remediation action plans for open risks to completion
Escalate past due items to senior leadership
Help develop and maintain a Client Relationship Management playbook
Update TPRM procedures to align with client TPRM guidelines
Audit & Compliance
Supports document requests related to audit, compliance, and regulatory exams
Perform third party compliance risk tracking, trending, analysis and executive reporting
Recommendations or opportunities to accelerate strategic efficiencies and proposed recommendations
Use of innovative technologies/tools
Deviation from existing process
What You’ll Bring:
Familiar with third party risk regulations such as FRB 13-19, OCC 13-29, FCPA, etc.
Strong understanding of risk management principles
Knowledge of banking products and services
Past experience dealing with audit and compliance functions
Understanding of vendor inherent risk questionnaires, review of due diligence documentation, and development of mitigating controls
Ability to develop rapport
Strong communication skills and ability to deliver difficult messages
Critical thinking and ability to use judgment
Resilient and capability to adapt and adjust to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic dedicated to getting the job done
Ability to execute with little supervision or guidance

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or training.
3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role in Third Party Risk Management, Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, or Internal Audit
Banking experience preferred
Big 4, consulting, or audit experience preferred
Certifications
CTPRP preferred
