Role and Key Responsibilities:
● Escalation point for Tier 1 Engineers
●Provide advanced level network/service support
● Provide network continuity supporting relevant technologies in the business.
● Ensure issue resolution by taking ownership of all critical network issues
● Manage Shift Performance
● Develop or contribute to the postmortem data collection efforts and documentation of the history
of the event.
● Act as the point of contact (POC) for all network/system maintenance. As such, will be
responsible to ensure there is appropriate support available to complete the scheduled
maintenance during the nightly window.
● Report operational state of the network on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
● Provide feedback to the NOC Supervisor and NOC Manager on all the pain-points, gaps and
challenges during the shift.
● Escalate to appropriate Operations teams for high-level issues or catastrophic
events (e.g. whole network element goes down, system-wide incidents/outages).
● Review of NOC Tier 1’s recommendations in preventing recurrence of network issues
● Continuously seek for process improvements
● Represent Tier 1 in meetings with external groups
● Conduct tech talks /knowledge sharing on new network design/technologies deployed on the
network
● Independently creates projects that are beneficial for the stability and availability of the corporate network
● Deep understanding of the network design and ability to troubleshoot 95% of the issues
Key Skills and knowledge:
● +5 years and above experience in troubleshooting and working in a network/service provider
● Industry standard certifications preferred (CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, ACMP).
● Consultant/ Senior Network Engineer
● Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and commonly used network protocols (MPLS, IPv6, OSPF, BGP).
● Knowledge of network standards and practices.
● Experience in dealing with users.
● Strong and advance knowledge of network troubleshooting tools, and monitoring platforms.
● Maintain a high sense of urgency while staying cool under pressure.
● Team-oriented, quick learner and adapt to changes.
