L4 Specialist in Tablets Org will act as testing lead (IC role) for larger component and features. Candidate should suggest the best test methodologies, by bringing together the domain expertise, knowledge of the product and software test lifecycle. They should have basic manual and automation test experience in software or hardware. He / She will lead the testing of multiple smaller components in specific, ensures test readiness and end to end component validation for device launches (both functional and non-functional), quarterly system releases and sign-offs. He / She will also perform and lead the team for non-regression test activities that includes memory, HOP testing, first pass test analysis, stability monitoring, etc. Other activities include performing impact analysis, highlight defects that may have a significant impact on milestone exit criteria in test cycles, conduct product release retrospectives by analyzing beta defects, customer tickets, etc. and engage with relevant teams to identify test coverage gaps and recommend fixes. Also, he/she should able to create documentation and training to help team execute and to streamline existing/new processes with the intent to improve operational efficiency or eliminate non-value add (e.g., dependencies) in the test process chain.

Key job responsibilities include -
• Contribute to overall quality of the product being tested by being the point of contact for the team’s deliverables in terms of manual testing.
• Suggest the best test methodologies, by bringing together the domain expertise, knowledge of the product and software test lifecycle.
• Lead a team of 10+ with multiple stakeholders, perform task allocation, sending reports, provide technical assistance to the team, contribute to operational excellence in minimizing test efforts.
• Participate in requirement review, test plan creation, test strategy definition along with QA team.
• Allocate task to team members , help execute test cases and report discrepancies.
• Monitor task progress, mentor junior associates and help train the team on new features and changes in the product.
• Identify and implement process improvements to improve quality of the product or overall efficiency of the testing process.
• Use the right software tools for monitoring metrics, identify trend and suggest corrective action.
• Worked directly with stakeholders to report status, voice out concerns and provide suggestions representing the team.
A day in the life
• L4- Specialist successfully test large, more complicated components and/or sets of features contributing to overall product quality improvement.

• Specialist conduct product release retrospectives. Specialist analyze beta defects, customer tickets, etc. and engage with relevant teams to identify test coverage gaps and recommend fixes. You make sure fixes are implemented.
• Specialist evaluate and leverage existing SOPs for use in new product-line test requests. Specialist create documentation and training to help your team execute.
• Specialist streamline existing/new processes with the intent to improve operational efficiency or eliminate non-value add (e.g., dependencies) in the test process chain.
• Specialist work on time sensitive tasks in the absence of preset work instructions or with limited artifacts.
• Specialist are able to review and triage defects raised by your team. Specialist perform defect trend analysis at release level and work with your manager to create an action plan to improve product quality.
• Specialist train new team members on team objectives, the products being tested, and how the team’s efforts fit into the product lifecycle.
• Specialist actively contribute to hiring and on-the-job coaching of DA I & II peers.

• BE, BTech, Master of computer Applications (MCA), MSc Information Technology (IT) or graduate, 6+ years of experience in software testing industry.
• Manual test experience in software or hardware products, test lead expertise by working closely with QA/Dev teams.
• Should have good communication, influencing skills to lead the team, often needs to work with multiple stakeholders, drive consensus together.
• Automation Skills (like java, python, android automation, Machine Learning and selenium are good to have skills).
