Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Commissioning Specialist to join our team based in Bangalore, India. The candidate should have good experience in perform commissioning and site acceptance testing in the field of automation, train and assist customers with installation, commissioning, and operation of substation automation devices, and willing to travel locally & internationally more than 90% for site commissioning activities.
As a commissioning engineer in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide.
As a Specialist I - Commissioning, a typical day might include the following:
Develop and maintain a proficient level of expertise in the detail design practices of SEL automation systems.
Develop and maintain a proficient level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system automation applications.
Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning, and operation of automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries.
Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities.
Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
Other duties as assigned.
This job might be for you if have:
Associate’s degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience/military school training
4 plus years of experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation system practices:
Good knowledge of system protection, integration, and automation applications
Working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applications
Ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities
Willing to travel min 90% locally & internationally
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
