Job Description


Specialist Business Consulting


The Global Sourcing Management Group (GSMG) & Global Workplace & Enterprise Services (GWES) are part of Global Support Functions (GSF).  GSMG plays a critical role in innovating for a more hopeful future by collaborating with business partners, customers, and suppliers to deliver value, insights, and solutions.  The GWES organization is comprised of Facility Management, Real Estate Strategy, Transactions & Dispositions, Energy Management & Sustainability, Workplace Strategy, Integrated Facility Management, Analytics & Innovation, Asset Management, and Maintenance Excellence for all global commercial, mixed-use campuses, and research laboratories. 


Within GSMG and GWES is the Digital Strategy & Insights Office that is responsible for accelerating business outcomes through digital enablement. This team consists of a Digital Capability, Information Governance, Business Process, and Digital Delivery functions. The Info Governance & Stewardship Team includes a Solution Analyst, which will play a pivotal role within the Digital Strategy & Insights Office by helping support the Solution Architecture Lead within the Info Governance & Stewardship group.


The Solution Analyst will be focused on solution excellence leveraging both functional and technical knowledge of business requirements in terms of information and experience management.  Additional focus on analyzing solutions designs and implementation plans to understand alignment to GSMG / GWES needs. The Solution Analyst will assist in identifying high-level requirements, principles and models that guide solution decisions for products and product lines within the GSMG / GWES portfolio.


Solution Analyst will also provide necessary input to the Solution Architecture Lead for any governance and/or analysis related needs.


Position Responsibilities                            


Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Collaborate directly with the Solution Architecture Lead and wider Info Governance & Stewardship group.
  • Conduct architecture evaluations and collaborate with IT teams to develop solution architectures that fit the needs of the wider group.
  • Help develop and validate solution architectures for digital solutions for the GSMG and GWES organization.
  • Help define system integration needs as it relates to data and workflow experience for digital solutions that meet GSMG and GWES business requirements.
  • Assist in communicating with stakeholders, including internal and external developers, end-users, product line/product owners and architects. Update stakeholders on the status of product development processes.
  • Evaluate project constraints to find alternatives, alleviate risks, and recommend process re-engineering if required. Find resolution to technical issues as they arise. Analyze the impact that technical choices may have on the DS&I delivering business value.
  • Help evolve the solution architecture function and overall capability within DS&I organization
  • Help define and measure key performance metrics for the DS&I solution architecture function.
  • Leverage industry standard frameworks and current knowledge of the industry trends to advise on leading architecture practices. Analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact on deliverables of the Value team
  • Analyze the current solution architecture to detect critical deficiencies and recommend actions/steps for improvement.
  • Help facilitate a Community of Practice, drive process standardization and collect feedback for improvement.

Education & Experience Requirements


  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Procurement, Business Process, Big Data, Sourcing and/or Contracting experience.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of business processes supported by transaction processing capabilities.
  • Fluency in English language plus one additional language preferred (French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Technical & Interpersonal Skills Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Desire to drive solution architecture design and articulate architecture solution options to the Business/Functional leaders, IT leads, product owners and architecture leadership.
  • Experience in using Agile principles for delivering the design (architecture concept) for complex solutions.
  • Understanding of architectural constructs, agile software delivery methodologies, continuous feature delivery concepts.
  • Experience and knowledge of current software development technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with a variety of audiences and stakeholders including but not limited to, functional business process leaders, IT leads, architects, IT peers, and colleagues worldwide.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to find innovative solutions to address complex requirements and situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, and a proactive approach to resolving problems and delivering results and be a strong and motivated team-player.
  • Demonstrated good presentation and communication skills to present complex architecture design, concepts, processes in a clear and appealing manner.
  • Familiarity with or experience in applying agile methodologies.
  • Self-motivated and value-oriented with a mindset of continuous learning.

Physical Position Requirements


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for business meetings, workshops and leadership meetings.
  • Travel expectations can be up to 10% of the time.
