Role Purpose


Deliver benefit to IHG through supporting corporate procurement and hotel procurement for appropriate Category Development and optimizing supplier relations and commercial deals for IHG, predominantly in IT/Technology and some exposure to Marketing and Professional Services.


Key Accountabilities


  • Works closely with stakeholders and sourcing teams to understand IT sourcing needs in multiple IT sub-categories, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements.
  • Leads sourcing, contracting and negotiations on assigned projects and manages a range of projects aimed at driving total cost of ownership (TCO), innovation, continuous improvement, and other benefits for IHG. Executes on global sourcing events and other similar initiatives.
  • Conducts in-depth research and benchmarking, using data and analytics to guide decision-making and lead successful negotiations.
  • Contributes to creating, implementing and supporting Sourcing Management processes, while guiding and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Effectively handles sourcing, demand management, and continuous improvement projects within IHG’s sourcing model to achieve business goals.
  • Addresses issues raised by suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams, escalating challenges to leadership when necessary.
  • Adapts quickly to changes within IHG's evolving procurement processes, technology, and operating model.
  • Delivers increased value (savings, cost avoidance) and reduces risk, benefiting stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experiences


Education –


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, IS, Purchasing Management or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience –


At least 8+ years progressive work experience in multiple areas of business – procurement or supply chain management, financial or business analysis, technology, contract management and asset management. 


3-5 years managing teams showing a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Must have a demonstrated ability to build cooperation and trust with colleagues and cross-functional teams and establish strong working relationships to deliver positive results.


Technical skills and Knowledge –


Demonstrated knowledge of product and service needs, financial analysis, and contract terms and conditions in a technology environment. Able to maintain knowledge of changing technologies and product or service providers. Experience with technology, telecommunications, and services negotiations and contract management is preferred. 


Analytical, insight-driven decision making.  Comfortable managing ambiguity in a fast changing environment. 


Excellent Microsoft office skills and Procurement P2P/S2C systems


Demonstrated experience in leading, managing and motivating people to work as a team within a highly matrixed environment.


Strong communication skills both verbal and written, to address all levels within the organization and work toward consensus. Communication requires explaining and discussing technical and process information clearly and concisely with management, technical staff, and business or professional representatives.


Ability to work in a highly matrixed organization.
