LCCI Tech Team is actively looking for a motivated leader for the Software Quality Engineering Organization who will promote the optimal testing strategies and improve test infrastructure and operations aligned with organizational goals, while fostering operational excellence, compliance, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders. As a senior leader and strategic business partner, you will drive testing and quality assurance services to fuel business-driven insights enabling a competitive advantage. You will manage an enterprise-wide testing function such as Test Strategy, Governance, Test Delivery, and common test architecture.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director LCCI Tech@Lilly, this role will be a critical thought leader in shaping Tech@Lilly’s strategy in Software Quality Engineering. This leader will lead a successful Test Delivery organization and will partner very closely with other business functions and delivery teams across Lilly. Extensive collaboration with global teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle of enterprise-scaled solutions. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational critical initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality.
How you will succeed:
- Build and manage a team of highly talented and experienced software quality engineers.
- Design and execute enterprise software quality engineering vision and roadmap.
- Build robust test architectures and pipelines and bring in new techniques for seamless test automation and execution.
- Accelerate test delivery, expand central capabilities to speed test execution and engineer reusable test assets.
- Aggressively reduce friction by making recommended governance and policy changes.
- Collaborate with different product teams and ensure the right test datasets are available to derive insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with other business functions to drive strategies based on the roadmap and work towards building a software quality engineering center of excellence.
- Stay current with emerging trends in test platform technologies and continuously evaluate the organization’s tech stack.
- Champion automation, machine learning, and other advanced test management approaches to drive efficiencies.
- Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to align on priorities and ensure business needs are met.
- Handle the budgeting of resources and involve in business planning.
- Manage team performance evaluations, training, and development.
- Implement robust security protocols and test governance frameworks ensuring test quality, compliance, and security needs are met.
- Capture and share best practices across all business units and geographies.
- Proactively identify and determine cases of Proof of Concept/Proof of Value and set the direction and approach to achieve.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for products end to end testing methodology and strategy by following best practices
- Develop and maintain complex automated test suites using various testing tools and frameworks, focusing on reusability and maintainability.
- Leading Design, Planning and Implementation of automation testing framework/tools to achieve optimal application performance
- Will be responsible for understanding current quality, design, and implementation of the quality automation framework
- Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns and configurations tools for faster development.
- Contribute to planning and estimation activities, monitoring processes and reviewing QA deliverables and tasks.
- Ability to derive KPIs, conduct periodic measurement analysis and communicate results.
- Perform quality assurance measures and testing criteria for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles
- Performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues
- Ensure that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues
- Engage with Product Management and Business Teams across the globe to drive the agenda, understand priorities and lead towards delivering quality products.
- Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 8-10+ years of experience in QA , Automation testing
- Proven track record of designing and implementing test frameworks and automation solutions.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts, including distributed systems, scalability, elasticity, and security best practices within cloud platforms is a MUST
- In-depth knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) including their services, APIs, and best practices
- Build and maintain robust automated testing frameworks to efficiently test data pipelines, machine learning models, and data visualizations.
- Develop and execute data quality checks to ensure data integrity throughout the data lifecycle, from ingestion to analysis for scalable data processing and testing.
- Experience in building UI and API Test Automation Frameworks and libraries using Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Appium, or similar frameworks
- Server-side API testing, Integration testing and solid understanding of REST API's
- Proficient in using JIRA to log defects, develop test scenarios, execution and create status reports/dashboards.
- Experience in writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in setting up CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins and GitHub
- Proficient in any of the programming Java, Javascript, Python,
Additional Information:
- Experience with low code automation tools like Mabl is a plus
- Self-driven and motivated with the desire to work in a fast-paced, results-driven agile environment with varied responsibilities.
- Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills; ability to influence and persuade
- Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology

- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of defects.
