Meet the Team

SSE SFCN is primarily responsible for Enterprise Firewall (FWaaS) and Remote Access VPN (VPNaaS) in the Umbrella and SSE portfolio. This team is also responsible for integrating security services in the SSE with service chaining, building infrastructure for deploying security services in AWS, DCv2.

As a Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, developing, and optimizing Cisco's SASE-based Secure Access product. You will act as the technical authority, guiding teams in deploying and maintaining high-performance, secure, and scalable Cisco solutions. Your leadership will drive innovation and operational efficiency in SFCN service architecture, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Lead the design and development of Cloud-Delivered Firewall and Remote Access VPN solutions.
• Develop and enhance Cisco Secure Access features using C/C++, Rust, and Unix/Linux.
• Author functional and design specifications to extend Cisco’s Secure Access capabilities.
• Drive feature testing, automation, and deployment across Stage, Pre-production, and Production cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize solutions for existing deployments in cloud infrastructures.
• Conduct threat modeling, monitoring, and risk management to enhance security and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points - these should be clearly defined, objective, non-comparative, relevant, and quantifiable to appropriately evaluate applicants – not including soft skills):

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience.
• 12 to 16 years of experience in Networking/Security domains.
• 8-10 years of hands-on software development experience with C/C++, Rust, and Unix/Linux.
• Proven expertise in cloud architectures (Public & Private), covering design, development, and production deployment.
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS.

Preferred Qualifications (Provide up to five (5) bullet points: these can include soft skills)

• Industry certifications (AWS, Virtualization, NFV, CKA/CKS/CKAD, AWS Networking Specialty) are a plus.
• Experience in VXLAN and Geneve-based network overlays for scalable, multi-tenant environments.
• Hands-on expertise with DPDK and VPP for high-speed packet processing.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across cross-functional teams.
