Job Description
- What You Will Do:
- This is a role within Cisco's groundbreaking Data Center Networking team. You will participate in projects involving development of platform independent software for our next generation network operating systems for Cisco’s industry leading N9K family of switches.
- Support Linux based services and associated applications in a highly available, scalable, and secure environment.
- Adoption of new distributions and open-source component versions
- Plan and assist application teams adopt new open-source components and features
- Ensure compliance with FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) requirements at the organization level.
- Security review of the platform and address open CVEs
- Debug application compatibility problems
- Perform comparative performance analyses
- Perform comparative memory footprint analyses
- Perform comparative in service software upgrade analyses
- Improve build and release automation framework and process
- Who You Will Work With:
- You will work with a diverse group of some of the brightest problem solvers and thinkers in the Data Center Networking/Switching Team that work on next generation of Data Center & Cloud switches.
- Who You Are:
- Overall 4-8 years of experience in the following areas:
- Experience in Linux third-party software and customization
- Experience in patching and maintaining Linux based systems
- Platform development preferably in networking products
- Exposure to containers and virtualization
