Software Engineer II – Java Fullstack Developer

As a Software Engineer II – Java Developer at JPMorgan Chase, you will join the Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) team to design and implement the next generation buildout of a cloud native financial reporting analytics platform for JPMC.  The FRI technology organization aims to provide comprehensive solution to analytical needs of the finance controllers to meet our regulatory reporting obligations. The program will include the development and enhancement of variance analysis, drilldown, automated variance explains generation, thresholds, and trend analysis.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Springboot, Micro-Services hands-on development experience.
• Strong technical development experience on effectively writing code, code reviews, best practices on configuration management and code refactoring.
• Proficiency in Oracle, PL/SQL, and Database development.
• Strong in J2EE & OOPS Design Patterns
• Proven problem solving and analytical skills
• Knowledge of Cloud, AWS (any certifications on AWS would be beneficial)
• Knowledge on any UI technologies (react, java script or AngularJS)
• Ability to work with delivery focused approach, work without direction and exhibit role of an Individual Contributor

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Knowledge of Banking Domain & Regulatory Reporting
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS)
