If you want to advance the world of fintech, we’d like to ask you: Are you FIS?About the role:This position is for Project FIS Security Lending and Trading App Aka SmartLoan: You will be working as a COBOL developer responsible for understanding the business and then work on enhancing and working on the future development. Along with the active development, he/she would also be responsible for production support and assisting QA. You would be working in highly quality & client focused environment.About the team: We bring together market-leading growth solutions and premiere operational services which primarily serve the broker-dealer community with front-to-back best-of-breed solutions.Our solutions include – Security Lending and Borrowing, Short Sale and Collateral management What you will be doing:Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. (Code must be used in core version of applications available for sale commercially.)Interact with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.Participate in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.Write code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.Train and communicate with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams on systems application.May be responsible for developing or executing project plans, budgets and schedules and for documenting work and results.May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.Other related duties assigned as needed.What you will need:A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.3-5 years of relevant experienceStrong knowledge & hands-on of COBOL (Mainframe/Microfocus/Fujitsu or any other flavour), SQL programming hands-on.Knowledge of RDBMS.Ability to understand the enhancement requests for existing products.Knowledge on any version control tool (GIT, etc).Added bonus if you have:Knowledge of C#/.Net/.Net core.Knowledge of any Continuous integration/deployment tools.Exposure to any build and release tools.Exposure to Agile & Scrum.Fluent in EnglishExcellent communicator – ability to discuss technical solutions within team and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussionAttention to detail – track record of authoring high quality documentationSelf-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global teamMust be able to perform under pressureMust learn and maintain knowledge of software components as necessary to support application builds and deployments and maintaining production environments.What we offer you:At FIS, you can learn, grow and make an impact in your career.Extensive Health Benefits Program along with the Family Protection PlanBest-in-class career mobility options across the globeAward-winning learning offerings for career developmentAdaptable home - office work modelOpportunity to work with global teams and clientsPrivacy StatementFIS is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all personal information that we process in order to provide services to our clients.
