As a Software Development Engineer Manager, you will design, develop, and test Amazon-scale enterprise business systems serving hundreds of thousands associates worldwide. You will also continuously learn new technologies, the latest industry techniques, and gets to use the newest AWS tools. In addition, you will get to develop new systems, support robust business tools, and integrate with other internal systems within Amazon's world-class operations.

A day in the life
A successful candidate will have the ability to effectively lead the team that support Amazon’s mission to be Earth’s Best Employer and seeks to help associates and hiring managers make expeditious decisions about internal transfers in real time to decrease time-to-fill, increase associate transparency, and reduce manual interventions for internal candidates. You will partner with Workforce Solutions leadership and your customers, and guide and empower your engineers to sustainably deliver high-quality customer outcomes. You'll proactively meet & align with Product Managers, UX researchers and Program Management professionals. Daily, this is diving deep with the team on immediate deliveries, managing the team's processes, collaborating with engineers on technical strategy and product requirements.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
