We are seeking an innovative, results-oriented Manager of Software Development. As Manager of Software Development for the Unified Payments Experience team, you will be responsible for leading a team in design, development, test and deployment of the payment experiences for various business lines. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer facing experience, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, a proven ability to grow and develop a team and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap of the services that enable faster delivery of payment experience to our customers
- Document and present strategies to senior management.
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
- Management of departmental resources, hiring, mentoring, enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class product development team.
- Work closely with the engineers and product managers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
- Report on status of development, quality, operations and system performance to leadership.
The ideal candidate will be a leader, quick learner and be able to work independently. He/she should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical. The candidate will need to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
