Amazon, in partnership with Whole Foods Market, is seeking Software Development Engineers to build critical supply-chain technology solutions for distribution centers. This role offers the opportunity to develop end-to-end full-stack applications in Bangalore that optimize grocery retail operations through innovative AWS-native solutions.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will own end-to-end delivery of significant features while serving as a technical leader. You'll design and implement solutions using native AWS services, driving engineering best practices and mentoring team members to deliver high-quality software.
In this role, you will:
* Design and implement scalable, highly available systems using native AWS services
* Own and lead the technical delivery of major software features
* Drive technical strategy through collaboration with product teams
* Lead design reviews and provide meaningful code reviews
* Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence
* Balance customer requirements with architectural and operational needs
* Drive operational excellence and best practices for software development
About the team
This team will be part of Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Store Technology (WWGST) organization, specifically within Grocery Supply Chain (GSC). GSC builds and operates mission-critical forecasting and purchasing systems that power the entire procurement lifecycle for Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market businesses worldwide.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
