Role Overview
Software engineering is a core discipline at F5 for many roles. As a software engineer specializing in site reliability, you will bring a software engineering and automated solution mindset to your work.
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) III, specializing in Privileged Access and Endpoint solutions, you will focus on ensuring the security and scalability of systems by deploying, integrating, and supporting Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Privileged Endpoint Management (PEM/EPM) technologies. Your role will involve designing scalable, automated security solutions that protect critical infrastructure while improving system availability and performance. You will work closely with technical and non-technical teams throughout the organization to facilitate the design and implementation of scalable solutions, drive automation initiatives, and monitor and maintain the performance of critical systems

What You’ll Do
Apply modern engineering principles and practices to operational functions and employ this methodology throughout the full system lifecycle; from initial concept and architecture through deployment, daily operation, and overall optimization, and apply these practices to refining existing systems.
Deploy and integrate Privileged Access and Endpoint solutions into existing infrastructure to enhance security and ensure least-privilege access for users.
Support and maintainPrivileged Access and Endpoint technologies to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of privileged accounts.
Scale Privileged Access and Endpoint systems sustainably through automation, ensuring secure and efficient management of privileged access across complex architectures.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, including unauthorized access, account misuse, and performance bottlenecks.
Partner with cross-functional teams to design robust access control frameworks using Privileged Access and Endpoint to improve services.
Apply observability and data skills to proactively measure the performance and diagnose issues.
Participate in RCA activities and help define SLIs and SLOs.
Implement and enforce security best practices ensuring protection against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
Create and maintain knowledge bases, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and robust system architecture to improve services on an ongoing basis
Participate in on-call rotation.
Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

What You’ll Bring
BS/BA or equivalent work experience
5+ years' experience as a software engineer specializing in site reliability similar role in a technology environment.
Technical confidence and familiarity with DevOps tools.
Strong proficiency in scripting and/or programming languages.
Hands on experience with technology systems tools, protocols, and platforms.
Strong working knowledge of PAM and PEM technologies.
Experience integrating PAM and PEM solutions with SaaS and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, ServiceNow, O365).
Experience integrating PAM CyberArk or BeyondTrust or Similar tools
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code frameworks for PAM and PEM deployments (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).
Expertise in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automating PAM and PEM processes.
Deep understanding of identity protocols like SAML, OIDC, OAuth, and how they integrate with PAM/PEM systems.
Experience in managing compliance and regulatory requirements for privileged access.
A code-first approach to managing resources in cloud platforms, SaaS platforms, containerization, and orchestration
Proficiency in Agile delivery, DevOps principles and associated tools and technologies like Azure ADO Pipelines.
Familiarity with SLI/SLO and Observability/monitoring.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge on Identity Platform knowledge like OKTA, SailPoint etc.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an integral member of an agile team.
Experience with observability tooling including logging infrastructure, time series metrics databases, tracing systems, alert definitions, etc.
Proficient communication, planning, problem solving, trouble shooting, and organization skills.
