The Environments Reliability Engineer, Index Technology will be a responsible for the management, monitoring, tooling, tests, and support of the end-to-end testing (primarily UAT, but also to QA) environments in support of the Index Platforms.
The remit for this role is a part of the wider programme to build in achieving strategic objectives of the LSEG Index business, specifically FTSE Russell.
Role Responsibilities
Identifying and then automating environment checks (Start of Day and regular)
Maintaining a backlog of UAT environment issues and either resolving directly or delegating to Support/Development as appropriate
Managing what application changes are in UAT and helping to avoid clashes
Defining and enforcing a set of UAT entry criteria
Being the first point of escalation for UAT Testers
Regular reporting on UAT environment health, improvements, issues, blockers, and the like
Document all UAT Environments detailing technical specification
Ensure all connections to each environment are documented and maintained
Ensure user credentials are maintained and communicated for environments and applications
Keep an up-to-date version-controlled list of UI's and Applications
Have full access to the UAT Real Time platform and components to ensure health and resilience
Prepare Environment Refreshes and end to end replication Harmonisation with the DBA Team
Release Management control in all environments, Tags, Release deployments etc communicating to ESS throughout, including release notes
Ensure all users have full access to Prime and PMC including specific screen access within each UI
Reporting end of week statistics for downtime which impacts projects within the UAT environment
Minimum Requirements
Technical/ job functional knowledge
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
Experience in software development methodologies
Proven experience of leading the design and delivery of quality automation software
Experience in working on data management and data focussed projects
Substantial experience in the use of Bash/Python/Go for automation
Understand databases (MS SQL, Sybase) and SQL scripting
Experience with AWS/Ansible/Jenkins/Git
Able to engage easily with a wide variety of stakeholders (business and technology) in various forms (verbal, presentation, email).
Linux and Windows administration
Business / Sector expertise
Desirable to have experience in financial services with an understanding of financial and related market data

Excellent communication skills
Strong team player, problem solver, a self-sufficient individual with an ability to be constructively address issues
Track record for managing high performing environments
