Site Engineering Leader (Wabtec Transit, Rohtak) is responsible for


Brakes:


  • Supervising Factory Support Engineering Team for Brakes and other product lines
  • Facilitate customer visits to Rohtak. Represent Engineering Team during customer visits
  • Visit RDSO and other customer bodies as needed for technical discussions
  • Lead ToT and ToP projects based on Business priorities
  • Coordinate with Product line Engineering leaders and team as needed and provide leadership for the smooth functioning of the Rohtak plant
  • Initiate Cost competitiveness workshops to contribute towards margin improvement plan for India P&L.

Friction:


  • Supervising the Friction engineering Team - (i) creation of formulations for Brake Pads & Brake Blocks in consultation with Global Friction Engg, (ii) Conduct Dyno Type and Performance Tests for Brake Blocks and Brake Pads, (iii) Leading TOTs from Global & Indian friction plants.
  • Initiate Cost competitiveness workshops to contribute towards margin improvement plan for Friction India P&L.

Key missions


1.


Engineering Team Leadership:


  • Lead a team of Engineers who provide factory support for various product lines being manufactured at Rohtak
  • Direct manager for the Friction Engineering Team at Rohtak
  • Coordinate with Engineering leaders and technical experts from India and globe based on the Rohtak plant or customer requirements

Cross-Functional Support at Rohtak Factory:


  • Represent Engineering Team in all cross functional discussions and be the face of Engineering at Rohtak
  • Coordinate with the respective Engineering Leaders and Teams – India and Global for ensuring required support to the Rohtak Plant
  • Lead ToT and ToP of multiple products based on business priorities.

Customer and Supplier Interactions:


  • Represent Wabtec Transit in relevant customer meetings for Brakes, Friction and other product lines as required.
  • discussions with Suppliers as needed to resolve supplier related issues and driving resolution

Describe the main internal and external interfaces of the position holder:


  • Internal:  All functional Heads @ Rohtak, Product Line Engineering Leaders (India & the Globe), Site Leader of Rohtak, Quality teams, CFTs, MFG Managers,  India Engineering Head, and Group Quality Head.
  • External:  Customers, Suppliers and Experts/Consultants
  • Direct Reportees: Factory Support Team for Brakes & Other Products, Friction Engineering Team (Formulation Engineer, Dyno Lab Engineer, TOT Engineer for Friction)

Education required:  B. Tech / M. Tech from a recognized University / College / Institution.


Number of years of relevant experience required:  12-18 years of Relevant Industry Experience.
