ServiceNow Developer – Asset Management
What you will do
As a ServiceNow Administrator - Asset Management, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the ServiceNow platform, focusing on IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) modules, including Cloud Discovery, Optimization, and Governance. Your primary responsibilities will include request fulfillment, incident response, platform maintenance, and general system administration. Additionally, you will assist with junior developer tasks such as creating workflows, troubleshooting technical issues, and performing application configurations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the platform operates smoothly and that IT asset data is properly managed, governed, and optimized.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide daily administrative support for ServiceNow ITOM and ITAM modules, focusing on Cloud Discovery, Optimization, and Governance
Fulfill service requests related to IT asset management, platform configuration, and user access, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
Respond to incidents and resolve platform issues related to ITOM and ITAM, minimizing downtime and service disruption
Perform regular platform maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and health checks to ensure optimal performance
Assist with the configuration and management of workflows, asset tracking, and governance processes within the ITAM and ITOM modules
Conduct customizations such as form creation, field configuration, and notification setup to meet evolving business needs
Support the discovery and optimization of cloud resources, ensuring that IT assets are efficiently tracked and managed
Collaborate with senior developers or platform owners to troubleshoot and resolve more complex technical issues
Manage role-based access control (RBAC) for ITOM and ITAM modules, ensuring that security and compliance standards are maintained
Assist in monitoring IT asset lifecycle management, ensuring assets are properly recorded, utilized, and decommissioned
Provide end-user support for IT asset-related inquiries and troubleshooting, guiding users in asset management processes
Participate in platform-related projects, assisting with testing and implementation of new features or upgrades for IT asset management
Create and maintain detailed documentation for system changes, updates, administrative processes, and asset management procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing
Stay informed about new ServiceNow features and best practices related to ITOM and ITAM, applying updates to improve platform performance, asset governance, and user satisfaction
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 1 to 3 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience OR
Diploma and 7 to 9 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience
Must-Have Skills:
ServiceNow ITOM & ITAM Module Configuration: Experience configuring and supporting ITOM and ITAM modules, including CMDB (Configuration Management Database), Discovery, and Asset Management to track assets and configuration items (CIs).
Basic CMDB Management: Knowledge of configuring and maintaining the CMDB, ensuring accurate data collection, relationships between CIs, and supporting the configuration management process.
Automation & Workflow Configuration: Proficiency in using Flow Designer or Workflow Editor to automate processes such as asset lifecycle management and discovery scheduling, streamlining IT operations.
User Experience & Interface Enhancements: Ability to improve user interfaces for ITOM/ITAM modules, focusing on simplifying asset management and configuration management tasks for end users.
Preferred Qualifications:
Scripting Fundamentals: Knowledge of JavaScript and Glide API to support minor customizations, client scripts, and business rules within ITOM and ITAM modules.
Report & Dashboard Creation: Ability to create custom reports and dashboards that track key ITAM and ITOM metrics such as asset lifecycle status, CI health, and service availability.
Configuration Management Process Knowledge: Understanding of best practices for configuration management and asset tracking to support and improve the accuracy and efficiency of IT operations.
Cross-Module Support: Willingness to support and integrate other ServiceNow capabilities (e.g., ITSM, SecOps) with ITOM and ITAM for enhanced IT service and operations efficiency.
Professional Certifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (Preferred)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (Preferred)
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) micro-certifications in ITOM or ITAM (preferred)
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
High degree of initiative and self-motivation
Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required. Potential Shifts (subject to change based on business requirements): Second Shift: 2:00pm – 10:00pm IST; Third Shift: 10:00 pm – 7:00 am IST.
